Question..if GD says must have metal valve stems...does this mean my new solitude (came off assembly line yesterday) with G rated Westlakes should come with metal valve stems....I also am planning on TPMS as my 1st upgrade/addon

Agreed . . . we just need to figure out what metal valve stem is a quality part and a correct fit to the OE wheels.

Very interesting. I heard of one owner having issues with a leaking metal valve stem. I didn't realize some didn't fit the wheels. I've had two sets placed on two different trailers from Americas Tire Co, and I just asked fo metal valve stems. Here's a pic of what mine look like. No issues so far.

I've seen reports of people running with rubber stems using an external valve cover. Stiffens the valve enough to negate the flex failures. Good enough to stay safe until you are ready to replace your tires. Then go with metal valve stems. YMMV.

We have tire minders and I ran without the booster for a while, but got occasional drop outs, so I added it, and no problems now. The remote is on my wife's side of the cab, she's in charge of that!

Thanks Steve7. I am also a big believer in getting trailer tires balanced. I am currently looking at the Tire Patrol (by RVI) system. It is on the back inside cover of the April Trailer Life. I have talked with the factory and looks pretty interesting. It even has an app to tell you if the rig is level. Pricing was a little difficult to understand on the online version so I called. $325 for 4 tires if I remember correctly.

Goldsp8, I just checked and didn't see anything on the back inside cover of our April Trailer Life which happened to be sitting next to me. I will look through the whole thing later to see if I can locate it. It sounds interesting. I hadn't heard of them before.

Our new Solitude was delivered to dealer on Friday. I stopped by today to take a few measurements and grab a few vin #s. The unit came with G rated Westlakes installed and I was happy to see that the tires come with metal valve stems from the factory as I hoped they would. One less thing I have to worry about switching out before I take it home. Now I need to decide which TPMS to buy for the coach and TV. I am leaning towards the EEZ Tire
