Pretty sure that there's a safety between flame detection and the gas valve. I don't have their number but suggest you search online for Atwood Mobile customer service and talk to them.

John - When talking with Atwood be sure to be real clear about the symptoms and conditions under which you are working. For example, what is your elevation when you try it on gas? Are you on battery or is the trailer connected to electric power? I have had issues with my furnace in which it would not complete ignition - meaning it would ignite for 2-3 seconds, then the gas would be shut off. Two weeks ago I drove to Colorado to have the furnace diagnosed while at 8000 ft. After much checking of a lot of things, it eventually came down to power. My furnace was not getting sufficient power (voltage/amps) when on battery so that a circuit board sensor was shutting off the gas almost immediately. I can also pass on to you that the technician in Colorado told me that her biggest problems when it comes to gas ignition with appliances are with refrigerators. Also, today when talking with a service advisor in the DFW area he told me he has a lot of problems with appliances not working properly because of power (voltage/amps) issues. He said that generally speaking if the appliances are getting the proper power, they generally work well. So, take all this for what it is worth.

It's worth gold Joe, that's exactly what mine is doing. It worked fine for about 3 months and hasn't worked since, I haven't messed with it before because our trips haven't been too long and we've put the perishables in an ice chest.
I will definitely let you guys know what I find out tomorrow.

    Thanks again,

    John

took apart the refrigerator burner assembly and found a piece of lead-like material lodged in the burner orifice. Didn't seem like it should be there so I sent a photo to Atwood/Dometic customer support and they confirmed it should be removed.
Scraped it off and now burner works fine.
They also told me the igniter should be 3/16" above the third burner slot.Click image for larger version.

That is great for you! So odd that that piece of metal was there.
