Here are links to a variety of HitLight dimers on Amazon or the HitLight site. They are only available in Black or White.

I will be using the one shown on the link to Amazon which is smaller than the one shown in this thread. It is touch based and might not be a functional as the one shown in this thread in which case I will revert to it.

I plan on using white for the white dome lights in our Reflection 337RLS and the black where the LEDs are controlled by the JR black switches.

The review I have read are generally positive on this dimmers.

Hey Guns! I just installed this dimmer in the overhead lighting circuit in my 315RLTS a couple days ago.And I got the tip for the dimmer from you! Thanks! Like Davido, I didn't like having the main light switch behind a door. I relocated the switch to the bottom of the hutch, directly below the control panel. Switch was $6 and matches the GDRV switches. I bought 2 of the dimmers for about $10. The dimmer is sweeet. Works really well, good range on the remote. There is a level memory so the lights come on at the last level they were set at. Really nice to be able to dim the main cabin from the comfort of your recliner.
I thought about placing one of these on the reading lights in the bedroom but I think those are incandescent. Dimming the awning lights may be where the next dimmer goes.

Will that dimmer work for the factory lights? It says LED Strip lighting. Just wondering if you installed an LED Strip?

Should work with any LED lighting within the specs. Doesn't need to be a strip. I plan on using them on almost every type of LED/fixture on the 337.

Strip sort of implies it could be higher wattage with multiple strips. Plus some of these PWM dimmers also do other modulation schemes (all sorts of blinking or if color, color rotation...)

    Phase 1 of install.

Purchased 2 types of Hitlight dimmers from Amazon to determine which I will use throughout the 337.

Here are the 2 side by side

ID:	6681 The black version has been used and discussed above. The black version shown is a rotary knob with an on/off detent and it quite a bit larger than the white version. The white version shown is capacitive touch operated. A brief touch turns it on/off and a continuous touch adjust the brightness (either up or down). Both will power on at the previous setting.

A couple of the things I like about the small variant is it's size and it is available in both black and white. The 2 colors will enable the use for both the dome (white) lights and black JR switches. The size will enable the device to be housed (with a bit of Dremel work) into the JR housing and face plate. Here are a few snapshots of what that might look like. The Dremel work will have to wait until I return to home base.

ID:	6685 Here is is behind the faceplate. Of course, this will be a black unit. If the dimmer doesn't workout behind the JR faceplate, then I will mount them to the top/front of the faceplate. BTW, it wasn't difficult to remove the SPST switch from the JR housing - slid out pushing with standard pliers.

For the dome lights, my plan is to surface mount next to the switch end of the dome with TBD attachment (maybe velcro for ease of replacement or...).

As for the operational aspects of the capacitive variant, I have a black version tied into the puck LEDs over the rear couch on the 337. The touch sensitivity for on/off and dimming are very acceptable and don't exhibit any strange behaviors. No noticeable flickering or noise (the unit is reasonably close to the media system).

More to come in about a month...

LED dimmers are really just small PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) DC motor speed controllers. They vary the time the LEDs are turned on with the time they are turned off, to create what appears to be dimming. So, a low power PWM circuit board can be used to dim LEDs. I have been doing this on my boat since before LED dimmers were commercially available. To have just the potentiometer (control knob) visible does often take some work to router space behind the panel or reconfigure the control board to position it where there is space available.

Not a better way than what has been discussed here . . . just a different way.
