Main differences between Reflection and Solitude.......

My wife and I.....and our two dogs....are soon to be full-timers and are looking for our first 5th wheel. We are totally sold on Grand Design as our choice but was kind of wondering about what is it about the Solitude that makes it $15-$20k more than a similar sized Reflection? I did notice that the Solitude is 6" wider than the Reflection but is that it? We are especially interested in the Reflection 337 or Solitude 310.

Also.....is my 2015 Silverado 2500 Duramax capable of pulling the Solitude 310?

Tom, the Solitude has a drop down front frame, a little heavier construction better insulation. It is heavier than the Reflection. I don't know the load ratings or towing capacity of your Silverado

Speaking only regarding the extra 6" width, that makes a huge positive difference. Extra storage is always a plus. The extra floor space the entire length is a terrific luxury. The bathroom is less cramped. The bedroom is less cramped. Along with construction differences and other amenities, that adds the extra cost.

Another big difference in the two models your looking at is no washer and dryer hook up in the 337, and the 310 has a dishwasher option. We seriously considered the 310, because we were looking at getting new F350 and were hoping to stick with SWR. A 337 with a hitch weight of 2090 (GDRV's #'s, not scale numbers) are is much lighter than the 2350 on the 310. After much deliberation we ended up going big with a F350 DRW, and the 384GK. Really like the stackable W/D in the 310 though, and with you going FT, a W/D is a nice amenity. Just my 2 cents

My wife wanted the heat pump, 6 point leveling system and convection oven and who am I to deny her.

Here is my numbers for the 310GK so I if you plan on towing with a 3/4 ton you will probably be over weight buy 1000 to 1500 lbs or more being full time.

You must be thinking of another Reflection model...the 337 does have a washer dryer hook up in the front wardrobe.

A big difference is that the Solitude is a full profile camper vs mid profile with the Reflection. This means that the slide outs are taller in the Solitude adding to the feeling of spaciousness.

There is 260 pounds between the 337 and 310 dry pin weights so they are close. Yes, we careful what we loaded and where we load stuff also. We also have a one ton but higher then most payload of 3727 although I did see Ram with 4100 yellow tag payload the other day.
