Changing oil, oil filter, and fuel filter is very easy. Easier than any of my cars, truck, and one of my motorcycles.

Not sure why it was stated as hard to do. This is my second Oman 5500K generator.

One of the reasons they make so many different types of RV's is that we don't all have the same interests or skills.... What's important to me might not be even considered by another.... I actually bought my Onan before I got the 5th wheel... Being able to stop along our travels and run the AC for the dog.. ( dog always comes 1st)..being the reason... I searched many different Forums on Onan installs and there was lots of DON'T DO IT! comments.... If anyone wants info on installing an Onan in a Reflection front compartment I'll pass on what I've done, BUT, the decision to do so is for them to make!..... Norm

From reading the above posts it sounds like there are 2 different things being discussed and thinking they are the same. 1 is installing and servicing generators when they break down and the installation of the generators. The other thread is talking about maintenance such as changing the oil. These are two completely different levels of work and require different skills.

I owe all y'all a public apology for the post (#22) I just deleted. Just re-reading it I got embarrassed. It was like I was reading someone else. Going through some troubling personal issues and I let that take over my fingers & brain. My bad. Won't happen again - I promise.

    Tom,

Your rant (that’s what I’ll call it) caught me off guard. I had to read it several times to try to understand it. It was all over the place. I wanted to respond to it, but thought else wise.

Don’t worry about it. We have all been there. Just ask my wife.

Hey Tom - I've enjoyed your informative posts laced with a little sarcasm and humor. We all make mistakes. It's the guy that can admit it that is A-Ok in my book. Every once in a while my inner A-hole takes a swing and I have to account for it. I hate it when that happens.

So...no slinking req'd, move along, nothing to see here folks.
