    I'll Start........

1.) Making a sharp right hand turn in our storage facility, I clipped a pole with the road side rear of the trailer. Seems crazy, But it happened.
Fix: About 500 Bucks and a body shop.
Learning: Get a Spotter In those tight spots !!

2.) Hooked into city water with no pressure regulator and blew up the cant leak valve.
Fix: About 300 bucks and a service call.
Learning: Use a pressure regulator !!

3.) repositioned trailer to level but forgot about the front stabilizers that where deployed.
Fix: About 800$ and a few hrs. laying on my back to install New said stabilizers.
Learning: Slow Down , Double Check everything before you move the trailer.

Okay, as long as we're publicly baring our souls

This was NOT a rookie mistake. This was a veteran mistake. This was our brand new, less than 1 month old, 2011 Cougar. 3 months and $15,000 later and she was good as new.

Needles to say I cried right there in the campground. On my knees with my head in my hands.

It was very dark one night out at the Thousand Islands KOA. We got out and looked at the site before we pulled in with our Dutchstar. Told the wife that her only job was to watch the passenger side as I pulled in, I could watch the driver side easily enough.

Pulled in and suddenly felt something tug, just didn't feel right. Stopped immediately, went outside and there was the seat of the picnic table lodged under the RV storage doors. Wife was on the drivers side watching trees or something.

Was a total PIA to get that thing out from under the RV. Had to jack up right there because it wouldn't pull out on its own. Storage doors had a half circle lip under them which got bent. I was able to stretch them back out, insert a pipe and bend them back like new.

We still laugh about it today. Ever since then I make her repeat the directions and responsibilities prior to pulling into a site so we are both on the same page.

I was going around a camp loop trying to choose among open spots and each time I went around the loop I was making tighter and tighter turns without realizing it. When I first hit the already chopped off limb, I thought I had just hit a small bolder on the ground with the truck tire so I used a little more throttle to get over it. Not a good idea

The repair was flawless inside and out but the initial pain was excruciating.

Very sharp right turn up a slight grade in the storage lot. Trailer emerg brake cable hooked to the pin lock handle on the hitch. Cable got bound up tight. Pressure on the pin lock handle pulled it enough to release the pin lock. Trailer landed on the right rear corner of the truck box, crushing the generator that lived right there. 10K later all good.

Great thread idea! So far all I've done to damage anything was open the slide when a kitchen drawer was open. It doesn't look like it here but that drawer was really jammed in there. The slide wouldn't budge in or out. I had to remove the face of the drawer and RIP it out of there (drawer guides and all). I thought I destroyed it but my wife was actually able to put it back together so you can't tell anything ever happened.

It also bent the slide bracket on the outside edge of the slide because I didn't stop the slide in time when the drawer jammed. I thought this would prevent the slide from coming all the way back in but as it turns out, it seals up fine.

The cost for this rookie mistake was zero but we no longer use that drawer and the slide bracket is still bent (although you can't tell from outside).
