My 2016 Silverado SB SRW came with the OEM 5 hole in-bed system and the OEM pucks (ball and 2 chain) all Curt. I have had no issues with this system...

I highly endorse the Andersen Ultimate Hitch. Prior to the Andersen, I had a Pullrite Autoslide. When I purchased my new 310GH which has a much heavier pin weight than my previous 5th wheel, I began to pay attention to the weight of various hitches when I was introduced to the Andersen. It is nearly 200 pounds lighter than the Autoslide and soooooo much easier to remove from the truck. The only thing I was concerned about was cab clearance when making tight turns. It is not a problem at all. No, I cannot make a 90 degree turn but in reality any turn over 45 is a rarity. I estimate I can make a 70 degree turn. I've got a very tight driveway at my home and getting the trailer backed in is not a problem.

I agree with the comments on chucking....definitely don't hear the sounds of chucking...can't say I don't get some of the "feel" of chucking however.

Finding a Gooseneck ball for your 350 should be relatively easy. My understaning is that the shaft of the gooseneck ball is either round or square.

I also agree with minnow101's comments above.

These are the kits with safety chain anchors. Only the Reese anchors work with Andersen. The puck system gooseneck balls can be purchased separately, the Curt for about $20.

Thanks, that's helpful info. I think, but not certain, that the short bed length of the F350 may even be a bit longer than the GMC.

I'm confused. Thought the hitch prep pucks in the F350 bed were covered by the base of the Andersen U-2 hitch, eliminating the use of pucks for safety chain attachments.

Someone posted that Andersen says you can cut the base to expose the puck holes and, once you do, only the Reese anchors work.

That looks like a Ram. My '16 Ram puck holes are in that location. I believe the Ford pucks are closer together which would require holes to be drilled on each side of the base of the Anderson. I also read that someone reported that Anderson said it was OK to drill those holes.
Personally, I would not be comfortable drilling out a 2" diameter hole on eack side of the base. Anderson needs to come up with a hitch that incorporates the pucks on these trucks.

My Andersen regional rep said they are working on one that works with factory pucks.

In my discussions with Andersen, they have stated it is ok to cut the holes. On the newer GMs the holes are all under the flat plate but the forward holes encroach on the tubing attachment points. They even sent me pictures. Based on the dialog here, I assume the picture with holes is a Ford and the one with the pucks just outside the hitch is a RAM. It is clearly no a newer GM...
