Off subject. I have seen a lot of bad reviews on these stands/jacks. Any of you guys have any issues with these. Leaky seals seem to be the most compliant.

If you have 4 or 6 point leveling just lift the RV up with the leveling system little higher than you want to store it and put some jack stands under the frame and lower it back down on the jack stands. I store inside and that what I do. I don't use jack stands because of the weight I use 2X8 cut and stacked.

    Hi Paul,

I have never gone looking for reviews . . . good or bad. My four stands all work fine (been using them for over 3 years). They are very "inexpensive" as hydraulic devices go, so problems wouldn't surprise. I always store mine upright. Some hydraulic jacks do not like to be laid on their side, because of how the hydraulic reservoir works.

I have used jacks that were stored on their side and had problems with them. What I believe happened is the jacks got airaited and they would all of a sudden drop a little bit when they were extended with weight on them.

    Thanks Rob
Maybe storing them upright is the answer to keep seals from leaking.
The 4000 lb ones should be sufficient??

The labels on the jacks (on Amazon's site) are very confusing. A 3 ton jack (6,000lbs!) is the least expensive. The next option is 4,000lbs (2 ton) but it's more? Then the final option is 6,000lbs (which is also 3 tons!), yet it's the most expensive. ??? (A fellow member first spotted this--look up this thread and you'll find their post.)

I went to Powerbuilt's website and confirmed the Amazon pictures are correct. https://www.powerbuilt.com/collectio...uipment?page=2 Very odd, to say the least.

The key is this bullet on Powerbuilt's website (under the 6,000lb jack's Product Description): Same product as 640912 Guess which product is the 640912? Yep, the 3 ton.

Here's a link to the 3 ton labeled unit.

Here's a link to the 6000lb labeled unit.

Thanks Howard, I found the 3ton/6000lb. Ones at the Home Depot for. $35 and change.
Going to pick up 2 and give them a try. Doesn’t make sense to get the 4000lb ones

I guess I need to re-think this "storage" with the weight off the tires, because this is how I do it. Just run them leveling jacks all the way down until they bottom out and all the tires are off the ground. Seems simple enough to me and negates all them fancy jacks/stands/whatever. Anything wrong with this??

    Hi Tom,

If I had the auto levelling system that you have . . . I would likely do the same thing .
My Reflection 303 predates auto levelling.
The only “caution” that I can think of with your method is that you run the risk of “flipping the shackles” with the suspension and axles hanging from the frame.

Rob, I've heard of this flipping but not sure what it means. Wouldn't the shackles return to normal position when the trailer is lowered back down. FWIW, I raise mine with the Level up system also.
