Yes. That is fairly loud. Yamaha & Honda inverter generators are rated much lower.

One of our pet peeves are people running loud generators in the campground when were there to enjoy the peace and quiet.

    Tucson Jim,

Quick question on the Champion 2000 (assume it is the same on all the smaller inverter generators also)...

From the pictures it looks like there are two standard 120 outlet receptacles.

Do you just get a dogbone elec adapter to plug into one of those receptacles on the generator and then plug your main RV power cord into the other end of the dogbone (assuming I am smart enough to buy the right adapter ?

Then, if I daisy chain two of the generators together with the correct harness, I would just plug my RV adapter into just one of the generators? I would assume one would be a slave and one a master?

Sorry for such basic questions, but I am not familiar with these guys and I have a history of barking up the wrong tree's.

The Champion 2000 uses an optional parallel kit you get from them, Amazon, etc. Your RV plug connects to the 30a plug on the parallel cord.

Late to this thread, Im one who agonized over which Generator, finally settled on Champion, and second Jim's recommendation. I can't believe how quiet it is in either mode and can always pick up a second and parallel if needed. WAs about $450 through Amazon. I started it the first time and almost didn't realize it was running.

Doing some planning/researching. Unfortunately the site that I plan on parking the TT has very limited full hook up spots. I'll be in over-flow (dry camping) spots until one of these open up, which is unlikely. Running water is not so much of an issue due to the amenities nearby but electricity seems to be a problem. I am frugal with my utilities so I don't plan on using much (phone charging, laptop usage, occasional tv/music).

I've seen some folks with generators outside their trailers. I don't know anything about these things. Can anyone maybe share their setup or their expertise? Thanks! I'm looking forward to TT living!
I am using a Champion Inverter generator with remote electric start. It weighs about 90lbs and will run my 2600RB with no issues at 3500 watts. It's is very quiet and with the eco mode active will throttle down based on demand for low loads without AC. With AC on, it is operated in normal mode which will be louder, but it is still quiet as compared to most out there. The only small issue is that it should have been designed with larger diameter tires where I will drag slightly on uneven terrain. I would purchase the same generator today if I had to do it again,

I know the Honda 2000 watt inverter generator will run a 15k AC and I've tried the Champion 2000 watt generator and it won't do it. I refuse to buy a Honda because I think they are overpriced and I can just stick with my 3000 watt dual fuel.

But this season, several manufacturers have come out with similar inverter generators rated at 2200 up to 2500 watts. Ryobi, especially, has 2200 and 2300 watt units that look very attractive and are still about the same size and weight as the 2000 watt units. Has anyone tried any of these new 2200 to 2500 watt inverter generators and will they run a 15k AC?
