Backup camera power
With all the discussion around the power to the backup camera being ON all the time, I checked on our 2018 Imagine and what do you know, the battery disconnect switch DOES kill the power to the camera! What a nice surprise! I was planning to go the marker light route, but there is no need now. Thanks for fixing that issue Grand Design!

Its the same for us on our 2017 Imagine. If the battery disconnect switch is turned on than the backup/observation camera is always on. Once the disconnect is turned off no more power to the camera.

Hey Jim
Just installed the camera last week. It was pretty easy on my 2015 337.
In the back of the trailer, above the couch, there are two puck lights.
I pulled both, but only needed to pull the one on the curb side (passengers side).
Looked in with a flashlight and could see the black wire coming from the exterior camera mount.
This is where a lot of people find this camera wiring.
Since power seemed to be always on (12v & ground hooked to the thin red & black)
I put the relay in. The key fob now turns the power on/off even from outside.
Have not tried it from the truck yet, but I hear it should work from that far away.
So much more convenient than adding a switch to the ceiling by the puck light or connecting to the running lights.
P.S. are you going to the rally this year?
