I didn't see replacement of u-bolts mentioned in the joyrider install instructions.
U-bolt reuse generates a lot of discussion on various user forums, some reuse, other won't.
Seems the users want to reuse and the sellers of them say not to.
I'd read that u-bolts are torque to yield and the threads deform on torquing up and shouldn't be reused.
Other info made it seem if the threads were clean and lubricated could reuse.

Since you've got new tires and going on a very long trip, you might want to have your wheel alignment checked prior to leaving. I don't know how well they're aligned from the factory.

Keep us informed on how your new Goodyears perform. If they're as good as they should be, Goodyear should do very well with the tires. It's about time the world has a decent trailer specific tire other than the Maxxis.

$50 for new U-bolts is nothing. Safer that way.

I was looking to add the Joy Riders as well, but wasn't sure which kit to get for the 2018 337RLS. I would think the 3", but wanted to double check as I can't find the actual axle specs.

All GD trailers use 3" axles. Any questions call Sonny

Jim - Met Sonny at the Elkhart Rally and had a long and interesting conversation about all the RV suspension things that he has invented. A very knowledgeable guy!

Until recently, I couldn't see the need for shocks on the trailer. Watching in the mirrors, it didn't seem to bounce much. But . . . now that I have it towing level (stronger springs on the left side) and the suspension working freely (wet bolts, bronze bushings, heavier shackles) it is bobbling about back there ! All the built in friction in the OE setup was quite effectively damping the suspension motion. Albeit, wearing out bushings and scraping metal-on-metal is not the ideal way of damping a suspension . Joy Rider shocks are next on my suspension wish list.

Rob, you will be glad if/when you do.

I talked to Sonny a couple of weeks ago and he is going to try and stop by the nor cal rally also. I've talked to him many times and he has even been to my house but I have never actually met him. (I wasn't home when he dropped off some parts - talk about good customer service) Hopefully next week.

With the Dexter axles now being used, does that change which kit?

I'm sure the Dexters are 3" also, so should be the same.
