I got the washer installed this weekend. I still need to finish making something to cover the gap between machine and wall, but its functional now.

I ended up going through the floor and out the back where the underbelly stops.

We did learn the "check valve" in the standpipe should be checked prior to 1st use, ask me how i know.

Finished installation, standpipe before and after pics. I used fishtape to position the "check valve" properly.

That looks like a good install and venting job.

Just know that the screen on the vent hood will need to be cleaned after 10 loads or so. I hate and remove them when I see them. The property maint. people fail to clean them.

Also; is the machine secured to the floor to keep it from moving while traveling? I saw a opportunity while viewing your pictures. A short L bracket from the machine base to the screw holding the tie down plate.

Thanks for the tip on the vent screen cleaning, i didnt think it would be that often. The install took longer than i thought, but i wanted it done correctly.

The machine will be secured to the floor once i finish the cover for the gap. Im going to use 2x6's secured to the floor up to thr same height where the kickplate is and a cross member to connect both sides. Im going to cover the wood with black diamond plate aluminum to match the current kickplate. I have the mounting brackets made by Splendide that screw to the floor and grab the front feet which will be installed last.

Finally all done, installed the brackets to secure to floor and made some bracing behind it.

Looks good! How do you like that combo W/D versus stackable separate units? My guess is that stackable is not an option in the 399 with the controls so low on the wall there?

I know in the past, the combo W/Ds didn't have a good reputation, but maybe they've gotten better?

So far so good, my wife is super happy with it. Once you figure out load sizes its great. It discharges to the rear black tank, the rear toilet and sink do too. I considered stackable and remounting the controls/thermostat. I ended up not doing it mainly because i wasnt sure of the stability of the dryer on top of the washer when driving. They wouldnt be directly on the wall due to the space for the dryer ducting. It is mounted to the floor, but i also throw a ratchet strap over the top when we drive to be safe, there is a floor d-ring on both sides of the machine, works perfect. The only downside is i have to take off the strap when we stop for a bathroom break.

Just an FYI the 381M has the rear 45 gallon potable tank directly under this location (don't ask how I found out), I moved the tank back one "bay" and installed the dryer vent tubing in a similar manner to this install. Have only run a few loads so far in the Splendide 2100xc but it seems to work well. Still need to see how well it runs on solar w/ our setup.

Yikes...I hope you didnt put a big hole in your tank. My black tank was forward a few feet of where I drilled the hole. Glad you figured out a solution that works for you.

Thanks for this post. This may be the easiest method for me , in my 350 M application. I’m also considering a stackable unit which will require relocating the garage tv to higher location.
