Do you have a flapper vent on the outside that you have to open by moving two small plastic arms? If not, then you don't have an external stove vent.

Nope. I guess we don't, then. OK, I guess it's good that I've already been using the main room vent/fan when I'm cooking. I don't get it, vent the stove back inside the trailer? Goofy.....

And most of them have a charcoal or screen filter that needs to be cleaned very frequently for them to even try and filter out some of the cooking gasses.

Hi Steve . . . oddly enough, Canadian bacon only exists in the US . (Not a name used for ham/bacon in Canada)
But, it would be bacon cooked by a Canadian .

I installed a vent to the outside slide wall of my 2014 solitude.Works well in removing the smoke problem.Works better if you cook your bacon in a pan on the inside of the stove instead of the front.I have photos
of the process and can give you step by step instructions how to do it. So don't sell your Solitude ----just solve the issue
Sent you a PM (I think).

Does anyone know if Grand Design would offer this as a option on a new Solitude? Also, does anyone know why they stopped putting in the outside vents for the stove hoods? Cost saving or were there problems? I see them on many other brands of trailers and the Solitudes used to have external vent (until a couple(?) of years ago).

On the 310GK are there any wall studs, wiring or plumbing (I really doubt there is any plumbing in the wall) where you would need to cut an opening?

My salesman has a question into Grand Design, but it has been a couple of weeks and have not heard back.

    Thank you

This was a definite must for us. We could see that everything vented inside and that didn't make sense to us. We bought the parts and had our local RV service and repair place install it. They did a great job. It was under $150 for parts and labor. We are glad we did it.
