I have limited experience with KOA campgrounds in both Livingston Paradise Valley (on the Yellowstone) and Billings KOA Holiday (just on the south side of town, also on the Yellowstone River). Both nice parks and beautiful scenery.

Thanks so much Steve. Got my travel book out and making several notes! Flat Head will be my final destination this summer. Then taking the bike over to Swan Lake. Ronan is worth checking into for sure.

Been looking hard at the KOA in Flat Head, reservations are a bit rough during the summer. I should have started my search last year lol. Thank you for your comments. Yellowstone River sounds like a great place to consider.

Lake 5 outside of West Glacier is a nice place to camp. The owner is a great older man. Ronan is a must! Hope you have fun!

Just as suggestion you might want to just put Flathead, it is all one word. Another place that you might want to look at is going to southern Montana and stay in Red Lodge and then take the Beartooth Pass road on the MC into WY. You don't want to take the RV over it can be done but not recommended. Beautiful views but watch the weather as it can snow up there about any time of the year. Another road you may want to ride some of is Hwy 2 west from Kalispell towards ID. There is some nice ridding there and stop at McGregor Lake a really nice area.
I was born and raised in this area of MT. Whitefish, MT was my home town and then after retiring lived in Kalispell for a a time till I got tired of the winters.
