New to the forum, Solitude 384 or 310 ???????
Hi All, my wife and I have decided to go full time in the next 12 to 18 months. We definitely are going with the Solitude, we're not sure about the big 40 footer in the 384, but don't want to be cramped in the 310.
The floor plans are similar but, again undecided. We'd love to hear your input.
Thanks, Michelle and Dave

We went with the 384. Loved the extra storage space, 2 doors to the bath, and large basement. Going full timing next year.

We just went full time about a month ago. We went with the 375res. We love the room separation and the storage is golden. I can't think of a better trailer for full time living.

We love our 384. The large bathroom and the access to walk around the bed sold us. You will enjoy either one!

I would also look at what you going to use to pull it. I owned 310GK and on the CAT for 3 week trip is over the GVWR and within 300 lbs of the axle weights but with creative pack, being careful of what you load and low option F350/3500 would keep at or just below the GVWR of the truck. The 384 is firmly in the payload range of a 1 ton DRW with pin weight at or close to 4,000 lbs loaded ready to camp.

Yes , my intention has always been the f350 or 3500 DRW, regardless of the 310 or 384.
Thank for the input.

I'm more of a boondocking kinda guy, so not sure how it would fit in the State Parks. I've heard anything over 30 feet doesn't fit, and I've heard big rigs will fit in some. I guess you would have to research the parks you'd like to go to.

For state park and national forest campgrounds, anything bigger than a pop-up reduces the number of sites that you'll fit on. Having said that, our experience with few exceptions is that there's always some sites that'll work regardless of the size of the unit. It may mean that you'll have to rely on the park's reservation system to ensure that you'll having a spot.
We almost exclusively camp at state park and national forest campgrounds and with our 337 at 36 feet, not had an issue. We do however use the reservation system as much as we can unless it's off season with lots of choices available.

We went with the 384 and love it. We debated between the 310 and the 384 but decided on the 384. Our intention is to use the trailer for extended timing up to 6 months a year within the next two years so we wanted the extra space. Our previous 5th wheel was 34 feet and we found it was okay for 2-3 week trips at a time but felt it wasn't enough space for any trips much longer than that for us. I was already use to towing a 34 foot unit and it really wasn't much more to tow a 41 foot unit. We are currently on a season site in a conservation area where the sites and roads were built back in the 70's and 80's. Even though things were tight I had no problem backing the trailer into the site.
