377MBS Mid Bunk Room A/C Vent?

Anyone out there with a 377MBS - do you know if the vent (pictured) is suppose to be an A/C vent?

If it IS an A/C vent... should it be ducted all the way?

There seems to be NO ventilation in this room. I'm trying to figure out a way to get this room cooled off quicker... only thing so far I'm thinking is a fan in the hall... which is kind of cumbersome.

Yes that is a vent, I'm having the same problem right now. I'm going to work on it tomorrow and will let you know soon as I found something out. I have talked to the dealer and they said sometime they need to cut a slit in the vent pipe. I was also told it could not be seal all the way. If I can't fix this it will be in the shop until they do get it fixed. The good things is my living room get ice cold. We were camping last weekend when it was 99 and during the day it was down to 68 which froze the wife out but i was able to take a good nap then.

Mine has worked a lot better, I took it to a service center in the Dallas area and they were able to fix is easy. They found some things not done correct and sealed right. They fixed them and all was good.

I placed a PC fan behind the vent. I ran the power wire along the ceiling corner over to the desk for power. I does help a lot, but on the really hot days it's still several degrees warmer in there, especially if the door is closed.

Hi all, new guy here with a 2 month old 377MBS. I want to share some information on what I learned and how I dealt with this situation. Depending on the outside temp's and the location of the sun I was seeing a 4-6 deg difference in the temp's between the middle bunk room and the main living room. Living in Florida this wasn't going to work. I found that the air is channeled via the ceiling AC duct work and the bunk room louver via the box to the left of the loft storage cabinet.

This is very easy to access by removing the front board. I found that the AC tape on the top was loose and almost completely blocking the air flow. I know that if you only removed and re-taped this area at the top you would help the problem tremendously.

I wanted more so I sawed the board to increase the volume of airflow, then taped the new larger area.

I then sawed the floor of the loft to be as large as the box. and sawed a larger round hole in the ceiling of the bunk house to support a much larger louver (the same one that's in the bathroom and bedroom). Then taped it all up and installed the larger louver.

I'm very happy with the results. I need to measure again but I can't tell a difference in the temp's when I walk from the living area into the bunk room.

Yes, thank you for the write up. It never dawned on me to look up in the loft for the air vent. I just assumed it was ducted somewhere that was going to be a pain in the butt to access.

I wonder if insulating that channel would help. No need to cool those pieces of wood.
