    Lippert Solid Step

I posted this over on the Reflections FaceBook page also. Installed these yesterday. Very easy to do, took me about 15 minutes. I can go up and down without my cane now. Real happy about that! Sorry the pic is sideways. Too early for me to figure out why!

We have the glowstep by Torklift and love them. They are very solid and easy to adjust for the terrain. They tuck up out of the way under the trailer, not in it. We looked at the solid steps and said no way. If the ground isn't level it could be a stretch to get them in and out. My wife takes the trailer by herself on occasion and with her bad back she may not be able to get them in and out. We are thinking of upgrading to a Solitude but if the solidstep is the only option, that would be a deal breaker and we will not do it.

^^^What Gary said^^^ Love our Torklift steps.

Over at our RV dealer the 17 model Solitudes had Torklift steps installed, but after a recent show they now have the Solid Step. I figured GD fell out with TorkLift or SolidStep made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

We just bought a Solitude 310 with the Solid Steps and they are very easy to get in and out. Will admit that my wife at 5'4" has to stretch to turn lever when bring down the steps but has not had any problem getting them down or up. Very sturdy and makes walking up and down a lot safer. But, with that said if I were adding an aftermarket I would use the Glow Steps. The Solid Steps will bring all the dirt and water from rain into your trailer if you don't clean them first. Best to have an old towel or something on the floor when bringing them up.

I just removed my Solidsteps and had folding steps installed. DW had a difficult time raising/lowering steps into the door. Also I couldn't lower the steps while in storage because the RV next to me was close, which meant I couldn't get into my Solitude because the steps blocked the doorway.

Folding step retrofit looks nice and is functional.

Terry.....who makes them steps? They're pretty nice looking.

The wife & I came to the same conclusion that some of you mentioned about the SolidStep. Nice idea.....but not so much in practice. The wife was pretty vocal about the potential for it being a head knocker and an impediment to just opening the door and quickly throwing something in the RV. I hadn't thought about not being able to deploy in tight quarters.
