    Adjusting your 4-door fridge door

I've seen many other 4 door fridge owner's experiencing the same problem I was having with the flap on the large doors not flipping closed. The fix is cheap and easy. I took a couple of photos for anyone not wanting to make a trip back to the dealer to fix it themselves.

Step 1 - pop off the plastic cover on the left side.

Step 2 - remove the 3 screws holding the top hinge on.

Step 3 - Open door and lift up to remove from the lower hinge. The lower hinge actually comes apart (screws together). You do not have to remove yours, but I pulled mine to take along to Home Depot to find the proper sized nylon washers.

Package of 3 5/16 inch nylon washers, $0.68, don't forget your checkbook.

I started with 2 washers to see how well it would work.

Lower doors are aligned. Flap closes without interference with the floor of the fridge. Success!!

Now that you know what to purchase before you start disassembling your fridge, this is a 15 minute project.

I did the adjustment on our fridge. I think I had to do a thick and a thin spacer.

Thanks for the info. Have been wanting to do this for a long time. It looks like your top door needs the same. Both left side of mine will need the washers.

Very informative post.I had the same problem and fixed it the same way. Unfortunately this repair is just a temporary fix.Due to cheap plastic and poor design this door will start sagging and probably break in the future.I contacted Norcold and the only remedy they offered was buy a new door and not to put anything except the lightest of condiments on the door. They went on further to state that there fridge is not designed to travel full time. After this frustrating phone call I just reinforced the door with a small piece of 24 gauge metal and pop riveted better than new simple quick repair.

Thanks for posting those pictures. I didn't even look at the bottom of the door when I had it off. Love your fix!

Put in spacer nylon washers in mine last week. Worked great and luckily the door was not broken. Will have to keep an eye on them.

Not good to hear what Norcold said. There was a thread on this issue earlier, and Brass washers were used.

Without trying reinvent the wheel, it looks like additional support needs to be added where pin goes in from inside the door cavity.

Thanks for posting this. We have made one trip with this (2018) unit and the frig is doing the same thing. Hope Grand Design will stop putting in Norcold frigs. I'll have the dealer fix this problem while it is still under warranty.
