Grand Design Reflection 297RSTS Cable Issues
We are new to RVing and just arrived at our first location with cable. I have been trying to figure out which cable jack to use in the utility center to get cable to the living room TV. Any help would be great, this is getting frustrating.

Welcome to the forum!
Hook it up to the jack that says Cable/Cable. It is the middle jack on my panel as you can see from the picture below.
Then, make sure the antenna booster is OFF. It is located in the bedroom on the ceiling. You want to push the button so the green light is NOT illuminated.
Once you have that done, you need to make sure that you have the correct input on the TV selected. Then, using the menu, do a channel scan. If you need more details on either of these steps, let me know and I'll go out and take some pictures for you. I assume you have the TCL television like I do on my 297?

Thanks. That is a great help. It is working now. The antenna booster seem to have been my problem. Thanks again.

Hi Jim ... for the Cable TV setup that you've described above (makes perfect sense) ... is that "all" that is needed in order to watch cable channels in (a) living room? (b) bedroom? (c) outdoor kitchen tv?. And, can those tv's watch channels independently? (or do they all have to be be on same channel as each other)?
Also, what is the bottom aux/bedroom connection for?
Thx.

That's all that's needed Bryan. You can watch all three on separate channels.
That Aux/Bedroom connection is if you want to hook up a satellite antenna for the bedroom or the pass through on the other side.

But you can't listen to the radio when the booster is turned off. So no cable tv inside and radio outside at the same time.

Interesting. My radio works fine with the booster off.

Radio reception would depend a lot on AM vs FM and signal strength (distance from station), but then I never listen to broadcast radio anyway.

Problem is the radio doesn't have its own antena, it uses the tv antena. So with the booster turned off while watching cable, it kills the reception to the radio.
