A little more progress. Combiner box is mounted to the roof. Screws holding it down are inside the box, lots of Super Flex sealant in all the right places. Wiring for Trimetric battery monitor and Solar controller done. You can also see new battery box sized for 4 6 volt batteries and inverter. Inverter is not wired yet.....

Here is the Trimetric battery monitor installed. It is on the end of the hutch just as you walk in the door. While I was at it I also installed a 12 volt power outlet/usb charging station.....

Finally finished my solar install. Final step was the panels themselves. Used the Renogy mounting brackets, 2 #8 x 3/4 screws on each corner and lots of sealer. Wired to the combiner box, flipped on the breakers and voila, solar....... Programmed the TriMetric and we're in business.....

Man Erick, I wish you had done this before I installed my solar! I am pretty daring but never even considered taking the interior wall off to access the wiring and used the vent pipe. I'm so impressed!

Congrats! I remember that first moment of seeing juice flowing into the batteries, and the knowing that your DIY was solid. Now, that battery bank is going to be topped off all the time. Very cool!

2/0 gauge welding cable, red and black. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used Spax brand screws, #8 X 3/4" self drilling to mount the panels to the roof.

6 gauge stranded cable from Home Depot for the wire run from the combiner box to the front compartment.

The combiner box I made from a Cantex Junction box from Home Depot. The mini buss bars and wire glands were sourced from Arizona Wind and Sun.

Super Flex self leveling sealant available at Camping World (ugh).

Temco brand cable lugs for the welding cable ends.

I think that's about it. If I missed anything let me know and if I remember anything else I will add it......

Looks like the Century Plastics box, like the one I used:
