New Post Comment and Question for Admin
Hey Chris,
First I wanted to say that I typically always use the "New Posts" tab when using the Forum, unless I'm starting a thread in a specific section. I, like so many others, spend a lot of time on here and that's the most effective way to keep up.
I wanted to voice that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the new format where once you read a post it just disappears. It makes it so easy to start at the top and move down.
The one thing I was wondering since we have so many new members, which is awesome, but if we're on the road sometimes it can be days before we can get online and the other day I came back on to find over 10 pages of New Posts! Yikes!! It took me almost 2 days to catch up. Would it ever be possible to have a feature where we could just clear the New Posts so we can get back to a good start point?
You see I'm very OCD and having New Posts that I have not read and reviewed just drives me spastic and I'm not kidding.
Anyway, just a thought and thanks for all you are doing with the whole spam issue and everything else.Paul "Poppy" and Deb Cervone

Paul - Have you tried clicking on "mark forums read"? That clears all the posts in my new posts queue and starts me out fresh.

Hi Paul,
First off you need to take a course in Evelyn Woods speed reading. I'm so OCD I have to read all the posts even if I'm away for a week LOL. You can go to the tab marked "forum actions" and click the "mark forums read" to get back to square one.

Woohoo, that's close enough. I wish I could mark the posts and then mark them as read but that's probably asking too much so this will definitely work. I was thinking if the posts had check boxes to mark all or individual, I could scan through them for essential posts, like those that need my response, and then show those as read but .....
I'm all caught up now but I will use this feature when the time comes.
Thanks guysPaul "Poppy" and Deb Cervone

Poppy, thanks for bringing this up. I just returned yesterday after being away for a couple weeks, and oh boy...I've been trying to clear one at a time the last two days. I just did the mark forum read thing. Now I can start over.

New Post Comment and Question for Admin
Al, Im still having trouble even after clicking "Mark all posts as read."
Now, whenever I log back into the site, all of the threads that had activity since the last time I clicked "Mark all posts..." show up as new, even the ones I read.
Will I need to get in the habit of clicking "Mark all posts..." before I log out each time?
By the way, I saved myself from buying a crap car by visiting http://vehhistory.com . I got the VIN reports including the history of the car!
