I'll admit to being guilty of this on occasion. Perhaps the proper search terms are not obvious for some of these topics. Most people on this forum want to play by the rules, sometimes you just have to make it easy to do so.
Since people are going to continue to start these threads, perhaps there should be specific sections for these questions - Will it pull it? - Hitches? - Dual pane windows? - It would make it easier for new people to find this information and the old timers could avoid looking at it if they wished.John and Jean

Chris - it would be very helpful if the search function could be incorporated into reading the post title as being typed and ID the threads with the word(s) which match the new post before allowing one to create a new post. The poster could then read through the appropriate matches and with a high likelihood to get their question answered along with gaining much more helpful information as well.
I suspect the software is not sophisticated enough to do that but how sweet would that be. Preaching to the choir but it would work like doing an internet search where the more words typed, yield the more applicable web sites with most relevant ones shown at the top.
This would also promote another item shared (and supported by many of us) by Jim sometime ago that posters use more descriptive titles in their post title titles using words appropriate to their question(s.)
Not a title like this "I need help"
But rather a title like this "My bedroom slideout in my 2014 Reflection 303 stopped moving and is crooked"

If the built-in search is limiting you, you could use Google to search the site. For example, Google site:https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum "bedroom slideout"
That is, copy the line above and paste in Google. You will only get results from this site.Future Grand Design Owner

I'm guilty of defaulting to the top level general discussion group for too many of my posts. I've put a few in the reflection and tech corner but doesn't seem I get the the same level of visibility or responses in those as I do in the top level general discussion. I do searches before I start a new thread but agree with a previous post - there are countless ones on the same hot topics. Perhaps those could be grouped to avoid more being created. What about tags for posts that we could select when posting so that it appears in other groups? Example - winterizing - could post in general and flag it for reflection group as well since that's what we have. Not sure if this creates more clutter or confusion but came to mind. Mods could go in mods group and I could also flag it to show up in the reflection group. Just an idea. Thanks for keeping the site going. I use it almost every day.

Three thoughts from a newbie:
- The comment about using the Google search if the "built-in" search is too limiting is spot-on. Few people know about the site: qualifier on a search.
- I haven't found any guidance about the use of tags. They become much more useful if they are to some degree standardized. If there isn't a current list of recommended tags, perhaps we should generate one and make it a sticky. If there is, I've missed it. Perhaps we could "advertise" it more.
- Has there been any consideration to a "home-base" forum for non-fulltimers, with a thread per-state that people could reply to? This could allow us to find other owners in our area to get together with on a less formal basis than the regional rallies? Is there already a way to do this on the forum that I'm missing?
Thanks for making this site possible; I depend on it daily as we're getting ready to start our adventure.Al and Kathe

Sorry, somehow it created a hotlink. You should be able to just go to it via the forum.
