Before buying a surge protector, be clear as to the difference between a surge protector and an EMS. Many folks, myself included, are pleased with the one offered by Progressive Industries. I am not sure if you have 50 or 30 amp service, but whether you go with a surge suppressor only or an EMS, there are difference models for 50 and 30 amp service. So, onto the difference; a surge suppressor is for surge suppression only. AN EMS costs more because it DOES more. Surges aren't your most common danger. Low voltage, high voltage, etc. ARE ! An EMS will cut off power to your RV when it senses a dangerous condition, saving your expensive equipment from damage.

The other factor to consider is a hardwired unit or a portable unit. The big advantage for going hardwired is that, after installation, this is one less thing to set up every time. Not to mention, the unit sits secured and out of the weather. The portable unit saves you any installation and goes with you if you change RVs.

I'd be interested in the model # for a Progressive Industries (PI) surge protector that protects against voltage fluctuations. I wasn't aware of any surge protectors from PI (products that start with model # "SSP-XXXX") that offer that functionality. My understanding was that one had to move to an Electrical Management System (product that starts with model # "EMS-XXXX) to get that functionality from PI.

    That's a "LIST".

    Thanks for sharing.

I've got most of the list. I have started gathering repair items in case something happens to our rig or someone else's. I was a Boy Scout and I like being prepared.

    Black electrians tape
    Teflon tape

    Double stick tape
    Scotch tape
    Eternal bond tape

    zip ties
    extra batteries if all sizes
    Hand tools

Are you talking about the electric jacks or the Hydraulic jacks Bryan?

Front legs are electric unless you have auto leveling, so if your front legs are square there electric, if round I guess you have auto leveling!!
