Just bought our first RV looking for recommendations on must have supplies
We just bought our first RV (upgraded from a tent) and are picking it up on Sept 11. Having never owned a RV before I am feeling very overwhelmed on what supplies I need immediately and what things arent must haves but nice to get eventually. Of the things that are must haves can anybody recommend specific products? I found just shopping for a swer hose on amazon there is so many available I dont know which ones I should consider and what ones might be junk. Thanks and I appreciate any advice.

Two of the most important things is tire pressure and torque on your Lugnuts .Tire pressure gauge , torque wrench for lugs on tires , they loosen easily do to side to side motion trailers do. 45 degree clear elbow for sewer connections. ( this would go home first ) as far as sewer hose ,you're going to need at least 15 feet you pay for what you get. there are many types out there. Leveling blocks for leveling side to side , check on eBay or amazon for these things , lynx is what we have for leveling also Anderson leveler which we use for leveling mainly, the blocks are good for both leveling and stabilizer legs/ if fifth wheel , landing gear legs .

Valterra water and sewer hoses have been the best in our experience. The Viper and Dominator are great. The kits include the 90-degree fitting to go into any sewer connection. A water pressure regulator is also needed. They make an adjustable that we have had good results with - just keep it from freezing.
A good EMS (surge and power protection) is a wise investment. We have an EMS-HW50C that was easy to install, and has served us well.
Those things will get you started hooking up wherever you go. From that point, you will find what works for you.Editor - www.RamGunner.com and www.MomentumGunner.com

I don't know what RV you bought but we have a big heavy one, as a result a Tire Pressure Monitor System is very important. You can't feel tires going low on a trailer, the system lets you know you have a problem before the tire blows and tears things up.
I like the Rhino Sewer hose. A lot of that has to do with the sound it makes when you compress it. I know, I'm weird. But it is semi rigid and stores well. There system also has extension capability. I have found it to be durable unless it gets frozen while full.
I would add a gate valve on the RV sewer connection, it's a pretty good preventer of unwanted sewer spillage. To that I have a see through 45 degree piece with a wash out connector. Get a catepiller folding hose support. Required in some locations, great for keeping and even flow without a blocking point.
I have some plastic blocks, but mostly use 4x4-12 wood blocks.
If you have a 50amp RV you will need a 30 to 50 amp converter plug. It's not a bad idea to be able to convert to 20amp also, if you park next to a house you can at least keep the batteries charged and perhaps pre-cool the refrigerator.
I like the blue water hose you can buy at Wal-mart. Stiffer than the white ones. The white ones always fold over and are hard to coil. Be sure to get drinking water safe hoses.
I have grown to appreciate my head lamp. Put on my head, turn it on, then I am hands free in the dark.
If you like fires get some fire place tongs. Great for moving wood around to optimize the fire.
Plastic storage bins for the kitchen items. Things slide around in the cabinet. Dish washer detergent is really hard to clean up if it tips over while traveling. Cheerios are a pain also.

Things I use every time we get out:
Lynx Levelers
Wood blocks for stabilizers
Tongue lock (if you're getting a TT)
Valterra gate valve at RV drain, rubber gloves for dumping
Fresh and black water hose (I won't put my fresh water hose near the black water flush connection, I'm weird I know)
Surge protector, and adapters for all possible electrical connections
torque wrench and sockets
air pressure gauge
extra toilet paper
three foot carpenter's level for setting up, I don't have the auto leveling system
bottle opener
and a coffee pot, with lots of coffee!

I hope the file I attached works. I made this about a year and a half ago when i had a TT, it was for a friend who was purchasing his first RV. It includes supplies and tips and tricks I've learned over the years. Congrats on your purchase.http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/59af3346...RV%20Tips.docx
