    We did it!

"We're just going to Hershey to look and learn."
"We're just going to Hershey to look and learn."
"We will NOT buy an RV at Hershey."

    Oh, well...

This morning we became the proud new owners of a Solitude 310GK. Rob Groover is a man of great patience, putting up with a litany of questions from us, some about relative minutiae. Thanks, Rob.

We had several Jayco popups over the years while raising our kids, but haven't done anything RV-ish in almost 20 years--so we're really looking forward to getting going. We're a little over a year from retirement, so we hope to take delivery in the spring and do shakedown trips next summer. Full-timing is a possibility in the future, but not imminently planned.

Now for a truck--yikes! Probably a F-350 diesel, SRW, probably long bed.

We look forward to benefiting from and contributing to this forum! Been lurking for a short while, and really appreciate both the tone and quality of posts.

Hope to see you down the road.

    Al & Kathe

    AT LAST!

Introducing "Scarlett" (a ruby red 2018 F350 CC dualie) and "Rhett" (the 5th, of course)!

September to April is a LONG time. We finally took delivery of our new Solitude 310GK yesterday. Living in Maine, we decided to wait until April to avoid (at least the worst of) the snows. Of course, it was snowing in PA as we pulled into the dealership. Oh,well...

So far a relatively small number of things that need attention:
    • Low flow in kitchen sink (unfortunately, not a kink right below as some have reported here)
    • Defective dinette chair (possibly the one that was replaced post-PDI)
    • Lens for the over-door entry light is missing.

An annoyance... The bolts for the registration (license) plate bracket are too long, and scarred the gel coat. They're already quite short but just not short enough. I'll have to grind them down a bit or put a couple more washers, and then repair the gel coat.

Now I understand the comments about the mattresses! [wince] We'll have to do something about that before we go full-time(?) in August.

Overall, we're very happy campers, with over a year of anticipation now behind us.

Highlighted states are those we have camped in for at least one night in our Solitude.
