I really like our Weber Q, which I modified to remove the regulator and install a QD nozzle, so I could connect it to the QD connection on the back of our Reflection. Works nice, and I can get it up over 600 degrees if I want.

We have the Volcano grill and really like it.
Little heavier than most, but very compact.
Works on LP, (big tanks or small canisters), wood & charcoal.
Comes with gril, combo griddle, works great with Dutch ovens.
Quick set up & take down.

If you want something a bit better then a gas grill, think about pellet stoves. We have the Green Mt Davy Crockett smoker / grill. I converted the solar port plug into a 12V power port.

Same question I had a year or so ago.
I looked for something portable with or without a stand/wheels with a decent grill size.

A number of people used the 'Coleman' brand grills as they are portable with folding stand or easily mount to the rear bumper, etc.
That said, nearly everyone I spoke to (as well as online reviews) mentioned the grill grates having more of a 'griddle' in the middle. This really messes with heat and I saw more than one burned piece of meat.
I've cooked on a couple Coleman models and found them to run hot with uneven heat.

I currently own and use the following gas grills:

-Weber Q1200 (no stand, great for picnic tables)
    https://www.weber.com/US/en/grills/w...1200-gas-grill

-STOK GRIDIRON (folding stand with wheels) (purchased at Target)
    https://www.stokgrills.com/products/details/gridiron

-STOK TOURIST (highly portable small round folding) (purchased at Target)
    https://www.stokgrills.com/products/details/tourist

The STOK grills are a surprising value considering the raw solid cast iron grill grates.
STOK has interchangeable grill inserts. I have a few. The handle to pickup the grill grate is a nice feature
STOK accepts 10" cast iron pan in place of insert.
I can leave the STOK grills out, lockup the rest.

I will soon own a PRIMO GO (JR) (charcoal).
    http://www.primogrill.com/en-us/products/primo-go
This is the smallest oval kamado ceramic grill for serious cooking. Weights approx 100 lbs.
Professional indirect cooking/smoking in a small expensive heavy package.
We'll use this one when setting up camp for extended time near home.

    Weber is best minus cost.
    STOK is best considering cost.
PRIMO is best, period (minus cost/weight).

Ditto. We did the same thing and had a 12' hose made that we can connect to our outside kitchen.

Up to now I've been using our connection mid trailer, with a 12 foot hose, but it's a bit too close to the entry door with any smoke from the BBQ.
. Yes that's it Roadtrip XL. Thanks Steve7!

I know the thread is asking about a gas grill...we have a Big Green Egg minimax grill we travel with in our 337. We have an inexpensive portable gas grill we use for simple cooks such as hotdogs/hamburgers. I can have the minimax up and ready to go in about 20 minutes and we really enjoy the quality of the food that comes from this grill.
