does grand design recommend that the black water holding tank flushing line be charged with antifreeze prior to winter storage? if so, how is it done?

It depends on your year and possibly GDRV model but best to read through your Owners Manual to learn. Here is the link to the GDRV site Owners Manual section: https://www.granddesignrv.com/owner-...owners-manuals

On our early build 303 it was not even covered in the manual and based on learning from the group, we have neither blown out or used antifreeze with no problems. Whether GDRV has changed the design of the system and/or just become more proactive to prevent potential freezing issues, I am not certain but I suspect the later.

Be sure to blow out (with compressed air - max 70
PSI) the black tank flush line at the outside connection.
An alternative is to pump antifreeze in this dedicated
line.

To winterize the black tank flush:
Include the black tank flush in your RV winterization process. To
winterize the black tank flush, supply 40-50 psi of air pressure at
the outside inlet connection to clear (blow out) any residual
water that may be in the line.
