    More 150 series observations

    I found a few things I like and some I don't like.

All of the gas lines are rubber- I prefer black pipe. If you hit something on the road the rubber lines can be ripped off.

The cabinet doors are flat instead of raised panel. This is to save weight over a thicker raised panel. The look is different but still fine. The counter tops are some kind of plastic- not as nice as my 29rs. I hope they don't stain.

The early production 230rl didn't have a receiver hitch. I made sure that my 220rk had one from the factory. As luck was with me for once, the hitch is identical on my 29rs so I was able to move my "modified" receiver hitch and generator rack over to the new 220rk. I didn't want to place the 200 lb Yamaha on it due to the smaller 6" frame so I will carry my two Hondas. The factory receiver hitch has a 300 lb rating on the 150 series as it does on the Reflection line.

The 150 series also have the 2" tubing under the axle mounts so you could use 16" wheels/tires if you like.

I mentioned in the other thread that I am sure glad it has Dexter axles.

It has a Dometic fridge which is way better than the Norcold in my 29rs. The Dometic lets you select gas without having to unplug the fridge or throw a breaker. It also has the thermostat control on the front, which is easier than the Norcold

The A/C is a Dometic. I don't know which one but it's noisy like the ones on my 29rs.

I have a BERG extended run fuel tank but will carry it in the cargo bay. I can bring it out at night when I need the a/c. I will just sit it on a milk crate on the ground and run the lines up to the Hondas.

A friends of ours just took delivery of a 230RL. He's towing it with a Dodge 1/2 ton. He says it tows great. I was impressed with the floorplan. The trailer was getting lots of attention at the campground.

Is he on this forum? I am curious as to which hitch he is using? If you didn't see my other thread, the Andersen made my RV too unstable because it unloaded the front axle too much

I don’t think he’s a member of this forum. He has a Pullrite auto sliding hitch. He just traded in a Cougar 5th wheel with a standard pin box. He has a 5.5’ box and is now considering a Pullrite standard hitch. He’s going to utilize the Turning Point pin box.

Thanks. I don't know if you saw my other post but the Andersen hitch has caused me fits for months. I spent a fortune trying to fix my truck. Then when I got this smaller RV I had the same issue. I borrowed the B&W Companion and my handling issues disappeared. I would like to use the Turning Point but would have to remove the B&W turnover gooseneck hitch and install rails.

He’s swapping out the hitch in a few weeks. I’ll report back when he does. He did say that the Reflection does tow much nicer than his last trailer.
I’m using the B&W Companion and I’m very pleased with it.

This is my first post, I have been tracking the Reflection 5th wheels for some time now. I put any purchase on hold until the "Wheel bearing grease seal" issue was cleared up. GD has recently moved to Dexter axles. I am interested in the 150 series specifically the 230 and 295.
Here is some info I gleaned from a series of emails with the GD:
From Billy and Peter at GD: "How was weight reduced in 150 series compared to reg Reflection"
No solid surface countertops, 8 cube fridge instead 12 cube, smaller ibeam on chassis, less slides (no bed slide). Construction is the same, floor/roof/sidewalls.
    6" I-Beam on 230. 8" I-Beam on 295RL (same as 303)
Countertops are thermowrapped / laminated countertops just like the Imagine.
230 are 4400 axles and 295 are 5100 which are both Dexter Axles.
Height next to the bed on the 230 and 295: Approximately 6’8” at the foot of the bed, approximately 5’10” at the middle of the bed and 5’5” at the head of the bed.
Gray tanks: Both 230 and 295 have two grey tanks. 230 has a 39 gal and 32 gal. 295 has two that are 39 gal.
Any more floor plans: There are 4 floor plans right now: 220, 230, 290 and 295. As of right now that’s all we have plans for for the immediate future.
Slides on 295: They are both through frame slides and not Schwintek.
    I hope this helps...

    Thanks for your data.

The frame on the 150 series is 6" vs 8" on the larger Reflections.
Both my 29rs and my 220rk have 8 cubic ft fridges. The 12 cubic foot is the residential option I believe which is not available on the 150 series.

My old 29rs and my new 220rk bedrooms are the same length. The total height of the 220rk is 11'8 vs 12' for the 29rs. The ceiling is a little shorter and the basement is quite a bit smaller.

It appears the 295 has an 8" frame.
    From Peter Kinden at GD:
"We were able to use smaller frames on the shorter smaller units in 150 series the 295 however uses the same 8" I beam as the 303 full blown reflection".
