Went to Glacier in fall of 2016. Make sure an drive to Many Glacier area. Lots of wildlife, (we saw mt goats, two black and three grizzly bears). The hotel is spectacular. May consider getting passports and visit Waterton Lakes National Park. There is also a nice drive south of the park on Hwy 2. There is goat lick overlook, and past that is Nimrod with some neat raliroad cars. Just east of Nimrod you can see the snow sheds that shield the tracks/trains from avalanches. If you have time, take a short drive around the south side of Hungry Horse Reservoir.
As for places to stay, all I can say is stay away from Mountain Meadow RV park.

Mountain Meadow RV park was on our short list of parks to stay in. May I ask why you recommend staying away from them? MY DW over ruled staying there and it looks like we are going to stay in Columbia Falls. How many days do you think we need to see the area?

Small sites, un-level sites, mostly just a path carved out of the trees. The Wi-Fi is non-existent, I was in line of sight and still could not connect. Even parked in front of the office and could not connect.
Most of the time the showers/restroom was very dirty. DW would not use them at all. When we complained, we got the attitude. We did hear good things about Lake Five Resort. http://www.lakefiveresort.com/index....accommodations
Forgot to mention Going to the Sun road. The road is narrow going up the west side, and it helps if your mirrors fold in. Once you break over at Logan Pass the road widens to a normal road.
