Looking to attend the 2018 Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Anyone have recommendations on where to camp?

We stayed at the High Desert RV Park on the West side of town. We signed up for the shuttle buses with was a 15-20 minute drive over to the mall parking lot. The bus dropped us off at the front gate (we bought the entrance tickets to include bus) and the bus picked us up at front gate. Once they started, the bus ran continuously until session was over. I think mornings were like 4:30 until 10:00 a.m. and evenings from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. are something like that. The shuttle bus made it very easy. We really enjoyed it last year. It will be something we do again down the road.

BTW- High Dessert does not take reservations for the balloon fest until July 1 (or the way it was last year). Clean smaller park with long pull throughs, reasonable rate. JMHO

Thanks, we are probably going to be in that area at that time so we may end up staying at High Desert.

If I remember correctly, we went to the web site and booked our all of our tickets on line including the bus part. Just remember to print it out to show. It was fun.

Thanks for the recommendation. As you mentioned, reservations for the Balloon Festival are not available until July 1st. again this year.

Booked VIP East ( at the Balloon Park) for the fourth year in a row! First year, we camped in the Premium lot, but we love VIP East now!
