Take a close look at the pix and you can see the truss head screws before I applied the silicone

OK, I see the truss head screws now. Gotta look close.
You mentioned they are screwed into wood, is that wood you added?
Sorry but I don't have my 220RK yet or I would look myself.

Underside of the fenderwells is plywood covered with some type of black vinyl. I just put the screws through my aluminum up into that plywood.

Could I just use something like this?
I realize this is a fender, for use outside, but if you found one like this about the right size, couldn't you just mount it underneath, and screw it into place?
You could even bend it a little to shape it to the size you need.
Seems like it would protect the whole path a blown tire might scrape against. Good idea or bad idea?

If you had a sheet metal brake and shear you could fabricate something that covered up the flat surfaces underneath as well as came up on the sides and covered that as well

You've been busy. The Aluminum is a real neat idea - did one sheet cover both wells?

    Mods to my 220rk

I love my new 220RK. Adding 200 watts solar but can't decide on batteries. Dealer installed Interstate is not going to cut it. Wife said, "I want that fireplace."
