PDI and what should get repaired

I got to walk through my new 328M Friday, sadly I didn't get to pick it up. Upon arrival the dealer found the rear freshwater tank was cracked where the pump host connects and it was dumping water into the belly of the camper.

That being said. I got to walk around and check it over, will do a final inspection when I pick it up after repair of the tank.

What I want to know is what is expected? The LED strips on the front cap are cool, unnecessary, but cool. The problem is they look like a 2 year old installed them. They aren't even close to straight and I would be embarrassed to turn them on at night in a campground for sake of people noticing.

Should the dealer be able to peel these off and re-attach them straight? Should I ask them to? Is this what I should expect on a top of the line RV? There are a few other issues similar to this, but this one stands out as one that I shouldn't have spotted and I wanted to know how picky I should be with the dealer.

Please don't turn them on at night in the CG so people can see them. We all know you have them. Over the last few months I had the undesirable opportunity to see front cap lights left on. Very annoying. The 1st was at a CG in eastern Oregon where a guy left the front lights on, on his Momentum. We were almost directly across the street from him and while siting outside by the campfire our view was facing his front cap LED lights. Annoying. BTW he was not even outside, he was inside the whole evening. So why have them on?
2nd time we were at a State park on the Oregon coast and some guy with a Keystone Cougar Outback TT left his on until way late. The way the sites are staggered the front of his TT was aligned with the rear of ours. Our fire pit was off to the side of our 5er. Needless to say those LED lights lite up the space in our area. Once again annoying and once again they stayed inside.
Those front cap lights are great for hitching/unhitching in the dark and thats about it.

Ironically several of the LED bulbs were burnt out on one strip on the Momentum. One strip was fine, while the other looked bad.

My issue is not with whether or not they should be used and what for. The issue is that Grand Design has bedecked the Momentum in blue lights from head to toe. The problem I have is that they did a terrible job of it. So, I would like it done right or not at all. If not at all I have to figure out how to fill the holes in the front cap.

I agree people that run their exterior lights all night make it difficult for those of us that like it dark to sleep comfortably without placing blankets over the windows.

I don't mind insisting that things are done right. For me, on things like this, I make an assessment that balances how important the issue is with the likelihood of the repair person doing more harm than good. If I deem it important enough, I would refuse delivery and be willing to wait until is could be made right.

For this specific example, I felt it looked TERRIBLE, I would insist it be corrected.

Yep, if they look that bad, I would have them corrected before taking delivery.

    I agree with Keebler.

Everything should look and work great. Make the dealer do their job. Be picky.

Did the dealer replace the insulation in the underbelly after the water tank leaked?

Get picky, I noticed some bubbling in trim around a door from drying out in the AZ sun to fast and had them fix it. You aren't buying a used coach and should expect a certain level of quality when spending that kind of money.

I don’t know. The insulation was all over the place when I got to look at it, so I imagine they will want to pick up their mess and put it back underneath. The tank is still in transit and has not been installed yet.

Thanks! I agree with that sentiment. I just don’t want to piss them off if it seems too picky.

When buying a new truck would you let anything go. Doubt it. Whenever buying something new that's exactly what it should be. If you don't catch something before you take it home, if it's something easy, it may be easier taking care of it yourself rather than dragging it back to the dealer.
