I just did a Google search for "led dimmer pwm buzzing".
This is a common problem, judging by the number of results. Two of the most common solutions are 1) modify the controller so the PWM frequency is >20khz, and 2) use silicone caulk, rubber grommets, etc. to mount the components, PCB, etc. thus changing the mechanical resonance.

Tim/Rob-
"To troubleshoot I'd start with the basics, pull all the LED "bulbs" except for one (that is on that circuit) and see if it still buzzes with only one connected. Forgot to ask, when wired correctly do the interior lights dim AND buzz or just buzz?"
-Yes I hooked to a circuit with only one LED and it still buzzed, and yes they dimmed and buzzed.
-M4 told me the LEDs I purchased are not dimmable, I'm going to buy a couple of the dimmable LEDs to see if they work quietly.
Thx,

Hmmm . . . over to Tim on this one. I have installed the PWM type of "dimmer" on many different types of 12VDC LEDs without any buzzing. I think all LEDs are dimmable by this method, but per Tim's earlier explanation, some LED dimmers vary voltage rather than time on/off. I've seen 120VAC LED bulbs advertised as "dimmable" but have never seen this designation on 12VDC LED lights. John - I will be interested in your findings with the different bulbs.

Just a thought here but are you sure where the buzzing is coming from? LEDs can cause radio or TV interference. I changed over all my incandescents to LED in the camper and experienced a buzz. It was coming from the radio when it was on even at low volumes. Had to put capacitors across the leads on the LEDs to "filter" out the electrical noise being fed back into the campers 12volt system.

Thanks for this info - plan to add this to my 2018 Reflection 28BH.
Just wanted to know if anyone has installed it in my situation - my control panel is covered by a hinged door. I'm not sure if there will be enough clearance to fully close the door covering the panel when the dimmer knob is installed (which I assume will protrude more than the standard switch it replaces). Anyone know?

Received the dimmable LEDs, unfortunately most were the wrong type, but installed two in the pendant ights above the sink.
Popped out the existing rocker switch, rheostat fits fine, lights dim as advertised.
If you think the switch plate looks crooked, you’re right.
It was secured by only two screws, had to rotate it to catch enough wood to hold the screws.

I have the same issue with my Reflection 303. There is not enough clearance between the panel and the cabinet door for the rheostat knob. Has anyone come up with a clean solution? I would be interested in pictures of where you decided to mount it. I am mainly wanting to dim the awning lights but will probably do the ceiling lights too since the wiring is right there together and whatever works for one, would work for the other.

The 2 rheostats I installed in our control panel fit just fine using Marty Robinson's inserts.
99% of the buzzing went away when I used the new bulbs from M4.
I'll see if I can live with that 1% on our next trip.John, Susan & Luke
