    Hitch for 2500 RL

We just purchased our first TT which is a 2500RL. One upgrade if possible we want to do is adding a fold up rack to the back. Is it possible to mount a receiver hitch or is there any other way to possibly mount a rack to the rear of the trailer or would it be to heavy?

    Thanks!!

DO NOT use a bumper-mount receiver hitch (if your 2500RL has a bumper). That combo is almost guaranteed to fail. The G-forces are amplified at the back of a trailer due to the distance behind the trailer axles. Find a good fabricator or trailer and hitch shop - they can weld a good hitch to the frame for you. The last thing you want to be doing is dragging your tray and cargo down the road by one corner of the bumper or a security cable. Even on the GD models that come with a frame-mounted hitch receiver it's only rated for 300 lbs. total.

As Rob mentions above, a receiver hitch is the way to go. There are several available on etrailer.com and other sites that will likely fit your 2500. Also, when looking at the link I posted above, make sure you understand which racks are rated for trailer usage, and which aren't (most of them).
