This is a very informative article regarding the use of a residential fridge while boondocking. The author give great info about power consumption and how much battery power and solar power is needed to run just the refrigerator for a 24 hour period. Check it out!
Great article, clears up many questions.
    Thanks for sharing.

As I said at top of my post, we currently do not own an RV yet.
So this helps when we finally decide on which model to go with and start the order process.

We dry camp at the air races twice a year so have an onboard generator and 60 watt suitcase solar panel. Since our 310gk is new I'm unsure how the solar panel will keep up the normal parasitic draw. My concern is no way to fill the fresh water tank from a 6 gallon jug. We stay there around 10-12 days each trip. Any ideas for pumping fresh water?

Lyle - You can easily use your 6 gallon jugs to fill your fresh water tank. Hook your fresh water hose to the Nautilus panel. Then put the other end in your jug. Switch the Nautilus panel to "Sanitize" and turn on your pump. It will pull the water out of the jug and into your tank. If you look at the fine print on the panel under "Sanitize", it will say "Siphon to tank via pump".

I boondock quite a bit, and use this method frequently to replenish our fresh water. And here's another tip. The water will flow faster if you elevate the jug a few feet so the pump is not pulling so hard.

Thanks Jim. I will try it here at home as I still have a lot of "playing around" with the new trailer to do
