I Wonder if this is GD's fix for the West Lake tire failures.

I doubt that this has anything to do with tire capacity . . . per Jim's calculations in post #4. It will be interesting to learn how GDRV plans to "lift" trailers built with 15" wheels to allow sufficient clearance for 16" wheels and tires. On the smaller Reflection 5th wheels, they added a 2" square tube welded between the spring hangers and the frame rails. Not something that most dealers could accomplish.

I will get the details from the dealership most likely when they get the parts from Grand Design. The service tech is supposed to get an instruction video along with the parts. It was only Wednesday Nov. 22nd when they discovered this. I am expecting at least a week until they do the lift. Keep in mind, the engineer said the 1 and 3/4 inch lift was what their team had decided on at the time but, it could change.
I will make sure I get the instruction video from the tech.
I hear people really like their Reflection TT's. I hope to get mine sometime this year.....

I can't fathom GD trying to have every dealer actually weld parts onto the frame to achieve a lift. I'll bet they go with a lift block between the axle housing and the spring. It would take a dealer a couple of hours to install them along with new U-bolts. This would be similar to what several of us did with our 337s when the tires were rubbing.
