Gosh that was a hoot to watch. We used to tow anything with anything that would pull it and maybe if we were lucky enough to even stop it back in the day.

The whole movie should be "mandatory watching" for all RVers .

We have it on DVD - a fun film. Lucille Ball was comic genius. Their RV experience was definitely a hilarious comedy of errors.

lol..... That would be some scary driving....

That was filmed on Whitney Portal Road, the road to the trailhead for Mount Whitney.
My wife and I just camped in The Alabama Hills off of Whitney Portal Road a few weeks ago. We had beautiful weather.

Here is the view we had from our bedroom window. You can see the switchback of the road where part of The Longest Trailer was filmed.

I love that movie, and have it on DVD. The trailer used in the film is the 1953 36-foot Redman "New Moon" model, which sold for $5,345 (equal to $47,846 today) at the time. So it is about the same length and price of several Reflection models. The new car used to tow the trailer is a 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible with a 125 HP flathead V8 engine.
