    Pat:

We just came back from a 4 day stay at the Oasis and was in space #143. We not hear any freeway noise but we did hear the occasional jets landing at the airport.

    Don:

Thanks for that info. Good news..... Noise wouldn't have stopped us from going, just a thought if an option was available. You know we are going to peaceful Las Vegas ;-)

Hi, interested in attending the rally, coming up from our planned first winter in Tucson, AZ.
Looking for any advice or info about US routes 60 and 93 between Phoenix and Kingman, which would appear to be most direct route to Vegas. Rand McNally Motor Carrier Atlas does not show Route 93 as a standard truck route, but also does not appear to have any restrictions or caution about it.
    Thanks!

On 93 (future I11) you will have no problem. It's actually a 4 lane divided highway most of the way to I40. I haven't been on 60 in so long I really can't say. Back then, it was basically city streets once you passed Loop 303 (going south). That may have changed though. I'll check with my DW tomorrow and ask her about 60. She drives from Vegas to Peoria on business all the time. She would know...

Yes, DW says to avoid 60 / Grand Ave. She recommends staying on I10 and then going north on Loop 303. You'll then get on 60 / Grand Ave, but will be passed all the BS. 60 becomes 93 which like I said is a 4 lane divided highway most of the way to I40. Then take the 93 exit in Kingman which, after a very short stretch, becomes a 4 lane divided highway all the way across the dam. By March of next year, the Boulder City bypass might even be complete and it'll be freeway all the way into Vegas.

I've pulled 5th wheels to Vegas and Reno many times over the years for meetings and conventions and I agree with John's wife. Take the 303 off the 10 rather than Grand Avenue, no matter what your phone tells you to do. If you take Grand Avenue you'll have to stop 15,000 times at red lights. The trip is much better now with all the highway improvements they've done. No more Hoover Dam delays at checkpoints as you glide right over the top of everything. Just don't look down if you're scared of heights. Gusty winds sometimes over the mountain passes but I've never had anything too bad. Wickenburg is a nice area to stop and stretch your legs and I usually fuel up in Kingman.
