Fuel leaking from tanks while driving down the road

My wife was following me towing our new 388 on a camping trip and noticed fluid leaking in turns and while going down hill and realized it was gas because of the strong odor. My generator tank was at 100% when I left and is now at 77% 200 miles later. I climbed up underneath at the campground and saw a little fuel from the vent tube on the rear tank, figured I can just raise the height of the vent tube to correct that one. But on the generator tank all the lines seem tight, there is no vent tube exposed and there is definitely signs of fuel around the top left of the tank around the steel connections and she saw fuel coming from the drivers side of the coach. Is this is a known issue and would this be something I can get addressed at the owners rally in Quartzsite if I am able to make it in a few weeks? What kind of issues are able to be addressed in the field at these rallies?

    Thank you,

    Mark Miller
We started with a old 24ft stick and tin in 2006, then purchased our first new trailer in 2013 with an Ecplise 23SCG thinking this would be our last trailer. That was until we unexpectedly took in a family members children on top of the 3 we had, so we now have 1 biological and 4 adopted children for a total of 5 children. So here we are, just purchased a new 2018 Momentum 388M to keep our sanity with seven people and two 100 lb dogs. We like primarily dry camping in the forest but try to take the children every summer for a 2-4 week adventure showing them different parts of the country. Thanks to my job as a Paramedic Firefighter I get to spend a lot of time camping with the children throughout the year.

Yikes. Have not heard of this before (at least from a fuel tank.)

Hopefully GD will chime in shortly.

Another concern you may want to think about would be fuel contamination. If fuel is getting out then dust may be getting in. It may pay dividends to put a small in line fuel filter on.

Good point about the fuel getting contaminated, is it okay to put a fuel filter on a vent line, wouldn't that obstruct the flow? Hopefully I will hear from Grand Design in regards to this matter sometime soon. Thanks everyone for input.

I'd think it would work adding an inline filter, I know this is about gasoline tanks on your RV.
My truck's OEM diesel tank has the vent line ty-rapped to the filler tube with a small black filter at the end. Aux diesel tanks added often get a inline filter added the their vent line.
