I don't know which trailer you have, but they may just be hard to open versus frozen. This cam happen from time to time. Try moving them in-out in short increments, and they should break free. I have one that is very hard to open right now and has been since early fall, and I'll be replacing it with an electrically-operated valve next year.

Thank you. They have worked fine until a couple days ago due to extreme cold weather. I'm in Hazen, North Dakota where it's-7° feels like -28°.

I had similar issues with my old 5th wheel. The handles were on the outside of the unit near the ground. The cables were always getting dirt and water in them.

I took about 4 foot of old rope, made a loop in one end, then fitted it over the handle. This extended the handle out a bit and I was able to get a good grip with both hands. To close it I would sit on my bottom and push it in with my boot.

My neighbor bought some foam board insulation, he cut out a box that would fit around the handles, then he put the heater in.

My other neighbor was smarter than both of us, he called a mobile RV repairman who came out and replaced the cables for around $100.

Temps had been averaging 15 at night, 25 during the day. We had one week of -22 at night, bitter cold.
