Why aren't there generators in TTs?

I just got done reading through the "Recommendations for Generators" thread. (I'll probably get the dual-fuel Champion model.)

Why do fifth wheels and Class x's all have generators but TTs don't? I haven't found any manufacturer that has a generator as an option.

It probably has to do with the extra weight, TTs already have a limited cargo carrying capacity. Also, the logistics of where to install a generator are a bit different on a fifth wheel or MH.

The Reflection fifth wheels don't come with generator prep either. I'd rather carry a portable generator in the bed of the truck than take up the limited storage space in my travel trailer.

Interesting. Didn't realize that--been 100% focused on TTs.

We'll rarely--if ever--boondock, but having the ability to turn on the a/c while taking a break at a rest stop would be nice. As you can see by my avatar, most of my bed space is already used up.

My Reflection 297RSTS comes with a 2" receiver hitch on the back of the unit. You could mount a rack that would hold your generator(s) in that location. However, even though the hitch is rated for 300#, but I'd still be leery about the weight and would look at reinforcing the platform.

I'm not sure if the Imagine TT's come with the receiver hitch. Even if they don't, eTrailer.com sells frame mounted receiver hitches that could be adapted to carry generators.

Northwood MFG offers gens in many of their TT's. Depends on the floor plan as to being able to accommodate a gen. Northwood MFG builds a more heavy duty sorta off road trailer.

With a Goldwing and ramps in the bed, people in the cab, fuel, and a weight-distributing hitch, how much rear axle and tire capacity will you have left for tongue weight (10 - 12% of a trailers GVWR) on a diesel F250?

Wings are around 900-1000 lbs. BTDT with an 06. Most 3/4 tons diesels only have around 2200-2300 max for payload. RAWR is 6340 lbs. Being a Platinum the payload will be relatively low. OP will be way way over payload but probably under RAWR depending on which TT he's looking at.

Definitely getting off track on this post, but according to Ford's brochure, a 2017 Crew Cab with a 6.7 diesel, 4x4, 159.7" WB has a max payload of 3,450 lbs. Max trailer towing is 17,600. The Goldwing is ~900 lbs. I'd initially planned on a 10K GVWR trailer, thus a max tongue weight of ~1500. Still leaves 1K for everything else. Should be plenty for what I want to do. That's why you've seen me remark about the TW that some are seeing with their 315RLTS and the primary reason I'm hesitant to pull the trigger.
