2018 Tampa RV Show

Went to the fairgrounds when we rolled in this afternoon. They sent us all the way around the back because we didn't have reservations. Get to the back gate and they tell us "if you don't have reservations you're not getting in". So we came over here to the Brandon (Tampa) Elks Lodge, $17.50 a nite for hook ups. A very nice RV park considering it's an Elks Lodge. We're 15 min. from the fairgrounds. and this place is packed with RVers here for the show.

Glad you found a site. Last year when we went to the show we did not have reservations. I called a couple of times and was told they were not necessary. We arrived on Saturday and found a spot without any trouble. I wonder if they had a policy change?

This year we are just driving up and will spend Saturday night in a motel. Only a couple hour drive for us. Have fun.

He did say that tomorrow the regular parking lot would be open to dry camping only, at $20 a night. $17.50 for full hook ups, and a much nicer location won us over.

Might check out Ybor City a little bit. Some good brewery’s and if you have time grab a meal at the Columbia. The 1905 salad and table side mojoto’s are pretty amazing.

Went to the show today and going back tomorrow. Met several of the Grand Design owners from this forum and from the GD facebook page.

Bill Martin was not there. The gentleman that I talked with said he wasn't expecting him.

We may be going back on Saturday, our weekend plans have changed so we are thinking about using the 2nd day tickets then. Has there been anything decided on a Sat gathering?

Rumor had it today that Don Clark was there but we didn't see him. We were in and out of many of the GDs and met so many owners and also some forum members and ran into some we had met at past rallies. It was a fun day and we're pooped! Still have much to see at the show

Can"t believe we missed most all of you! We were at GD around 2:30 just in time to see Kitty and Al Gomez make a deal on the 374 TH!! They are so excited and we were excited for them! Also got to see Vicki Hill that we had met at the rally. They had a new 374 TH that was delivered in Texas and are going to pick it up in a couple of weeks. It seemed to me that the GD site was very busy yesterday! Thee new little Transcend was fun to go through! It was beautiful yesterday but gonna be colder today. Everyone enjoy and have fun!!!

Sandi We missed you but Debbie told us she saw you and Allen. We didn't make any deals, we thought Lazy Days show pricing seem a little high but have narrowed the choices down to a few or so...and a new list of don't likes lol.

Jan, if we are there late enough and my dogs can cross their legs we might be open for the dinner but will be at the show doing more looking. If you pass someone with a carved morel mushroom topped walking stick it's me.

Well . . . we were planning to visit the show today, but with black ice on the Florida roads between here and there !! which local drivers have no idea how to handle and road maintenance has no way to deal with anyway (not a lot of salt trucks in this part of Florida ). . . perhaps we will cross paths with some of you at the show on Saturday.
