    JCZHome,
Go to this web site for the 2018 Tampa RV Super Show: http://www.frvta.org/show/florida-rv-supershow/

Go to this site for information about the fairgrounds where the show is held: http://www.floridastatefair.com/even...a-rv-supershow

Both site have lots of info and at the bottom of each is a phone number to call about camping at the show. BUT BE FOREWARNED: The camping sites have been SOLD OUT for months. None-the-less, they may have a late cancellation.

We go every year and only once went with a group (Freightliner - back when we had a motorhome). This year we're staying in a hotel as we're between the motorhome sale and ordering a 310GK. Anyhow - if you want to take the RV over you can. They have RV parking in the parking lot(s); you have to pay $12 to park an RV (or $6 for a car). You can stay in the parking area overnight; sometimes someone comes by to collect a $20 fee for staying overnight, sometimes you'll be at dinner or away from the RV so they may not get your $20 that night (they'll get it the next night if you stay again).

We usually stay in the parking lot and visit any rally group(s) there if we want. Sometimes we just go for the day - everything is weather dependent with us.

So........ you can always stay at the Fairgrounds if you can't get a campsite (which is pretty much electric only as I recall).

Hope to meet you on Wed, 1/17 around noon. I'll wear my red hat from the Varsity restaurant in Atlanta - otherwise I'd be the short guy with little no hair with glasses (and my beautiful DW )

Best information yet! Having a 376TH (not able to get to the kitchen, bathroom or bed with the slides in), are we able/allowed to park there with the slides open? That would be better for us because of our dogs. They're comfortable in their home and they're a lot closer for us to go take them out a couple of times a day.

Thanks for the heads up on this...it's much appreciated!

No problem with the size & parking & access to pets. Just get a re-entry stamp (or whatever) to go back in. And if you don't like where they park you (assuming they even bother to direct you to a parking spot) you can re-locate in the evening when the cars leave (you'll understand the first evening you are there).

Recommend entering on the 301 HWY side (east side) at the main gate directly across from Elm Fair Blvd.

Note: the Orient Rd entry is where one enters the campground. We never went in that way except late at night when they close the other entrances and that was in the car.

The web site map shows a special entrance for RVs. It is on Hwy. 301, just south of the main entrance (looks to be the very next entrance after the main entry). Will I be able to unhook and go out to dinner in the evening (and probably be gone all day on Fri)? Otherwise, I can move it over to the Elks Lodge.....which is where I was going to stay (but then we'd have to bring the dogs with us to the show).

Generally that RV entrance is where rally groups go in to que/muster before the fairground parking escorts take the group to their rally area within the campground. I always entered at the entrance I first ID’d. So now I’m not sure what to recommend. Good question for the fairground phone number. The entrance is wide enough and I always go in the right most lane because I like the parking in that area.

Yes, you can disconnect and go explore Tampa (or whetever$.

I'll come in on Hwy 301 from the north.....if they'll let me in that first entrance, then I'll go for it. I have a 376TH (42' long) along with a longbed crew cab so I hope the first lane to the right is a wide enough swing that I can get in without taking out a curb.

Whatever you do, do NOT come in the MLK entrance. I came through it last year with our 376 and had only a foot or 2 clearance. This entrance has the very old toll booth that you drive through and it is tight. Once in and you find a spot you can unhitch and come and go as you please. I came in on a Saturday around noon and the place was packed. They led me to a nice spot and I had plenty of room to maneuver.

Went to the fairgrounds when we rolled in this afternoon. They sent us all the way around the back because we didn't have reservations. Get to the back gate and they tell us "if you don't have reservations you're not getting in". So we came over here to the Brandon (Tampa) Elks Lodge, $17.50 a nite for hook ups. A very nice RV park considering it's an Elks Lodge. We're 15 min. from the fairgrounds. and this place is packed with RVers here for the show.

My wife and I will be attending the show tomorrow. We don't have a GD, their booth is on top of our list. Never been to Tampa, is there much to see there if we have a couple hours late afternoon or evening? Driving back to New Brunswick Thursday with my fathers 17 year old Buick

My first time in the Tampa area and we just arrived this afternoon. My wife knows the area a bit...but she's not here right now. If you are at the Grand Design RV area tomorrow about noon, you can ask her. She'
