Manufactured 6/2016, Bummer! I like heated seats!
Debbie, just a thought, but if you're mostly alone - you might be able to utilize the dining table area for a desk, or change out the double recliners for a single recliner.
Also, depending on the guest(s) - for the recliners are comfortable enough to sleep on (done it myself quite a few times).

Best of luck in your search. We are quite pleased with our 297. I've made numerous electrical upgrades, sleep number bed, DirecTV satellite, etc. It's a nice floorplan and offers most of the function of the larger floorplans.

Debbie - I went out and did some measuring and was quite surprised with what I found. Indeed, the sofa will fit on the slide out in place of the recliners. With the bed pulled out, it's 74 inches from the wall. The island is 79 inches from the wall so you'll have much more room than I guessed you would.
The sofa is 70" wide, and the two recliners are 60-1/2" wide. So the sofa would go 9-1/2" closer to the dinette than the recliners do. The dinette section is already a little tight, and this would take up even more room. But there is a solution. Ginnie and I turned our dinette table sideways and moved it against the wall, and took out two of the chairs. We then sit side by side at the open end of the table. This gives us a lot more room when the two of us are eating inside. And we are facing the windows which we enjoy.

Thank you Jim. That's a great idea about moving the table. Especially if I'm eating alone.... it would be nice to be able to be looking out the window while I eat. After all...that's the reason I want to live in an RV... to be able to enjoy my surroundings.
Thank you for taking the time to measure that for me.

We've been considering doing the same thing with the table. Sitting facing out does make watching TV more difficult. If I could find a nice custom furniture manufacturer in Tucson/Phoenix, I'd love to have a new 60" x 20" table made to put under the window. We could easily sit 3 at the table. Add a couple of bar stools for the island, and you now have comfortable seating for 5.

There was a used 2017 297 at Dixie RV in Defuniak Springs, Florida. It has "pending sale" on the website. But just in case, here's the link: https://www.dixierv.com/inv/2017-Gra...97RSTS-24172A/

I can speak from a dealer's view point. We see very few, barely any, used Grand Design units. When we do get one in it doesn't last long. Grand Design owners are typically very particular about their units, and don't be surprised to see that the used unit holds it's value. At this time, we have only 1 used Reflection FW. We do have the 297 you're looking for, but in a new model. Good luck with your search and enjoy your GD.

There's 338 used GD trailers for sale on RVtrader. Guessing there's many more that aren't listed. There's 4 297's listed. Ones a used 2018.

ah ... sleep number ... we love our SelectComfort in our house and have wondered about going with the R5 for the RV. A couple of questions, please:
1. do you know the difference between standard queen and queen radius? I see both as options for the sleep number bed, but not sure which is the "correct" one for the 297.
2. any problems with the tubing / power cable when installing the select comfort?
Thx. Bryan
