    Residential fridge outside drip

Need a little info from those of you with the Samsung fridge. Mine was converted over by the dealer back in April and works fine. However this is a new development. Yesterday I turned it on in my storage unit to get it ready for camping this week. I came back 3-4 hours later and it was already at 38 and -8 for the temps. However I noticed a slow drip under the street side slide and the water was cold. Looking up under the slide it looks like it was dripping up higher and running down a hose of some sort. The ice maker and the water pump were NOT on and it is not connected to a water faucet. The storeroom and the trailer were about 80 degrees inside. Would this be condensation or something? I worry about it getting wet in behind the fridge and floor damage etc. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Sure. I did a little googling on the Samsung and apparently in high humidity conditions you can get enough condensation on the coils to overflow the drip tray under the fridge. The water in it normally evaporates before overflowing, mine didn't. I had no water inside the fridge or on the floor in front of it. My guess is it ran out the bottom of the slide somewhere, probably out the hole for the ice maker line, it only dripped for a couple of hours then stopped. We're probably talking maybe a pint of water. The fridge was running in my store room but the a/c was not, about 85 degrees and 60% humidity. I turned it on a few days early before camping out of habit with the Norcold, won't do that again lol. The Samsung reached correct temps in about 3 hours at most.

You're welcome Rob. I know you have the Samsung, wondering if you've ever experienced this? I know you full time so the A/C is probably on most of the time.

We have not. You are correct - ACs on in the summer and we have a dehumidifier than we run when the weather cools off and the ACs aren't running. We're on the Chesapeake in Maryland for this winter and the past few weeks the dehumidifier has pulled 1 - 2 gallons (!) of water out of the air on humid or rainy days. Sure makes it more comfortable inside... and our bath towels dry between uses.

Wow 1-2 gallons?! I guess a good de-humidifier is in my future, especially for when rig is in storage! Thanks for the input!

Of course, that's with two of us living in the trailer, showering, cooking, etc. In storage would be a different story. You'd need to get a dehumidifier with provisions for an output tube so it could drain outside. I dump the bucket in ours once or twice a day depending.

Good point. I was looking at some at Home Depot that have a provision on the back to attach a regular garden hose etc. Was thinking about just setting in the bathroom or hallway and running the drain into the shower, would take a long while to fill up a 50+ gallon grey tank. Only concern there is any buildup or staining of the shower pan. I'll figure out what to do, it's too humid in South Texas to not do something. Thank you again for the input.
