Wondered how similar or different this setup is for using the Nanostation M2 to feed the wireless router via CAT5 and then the devices in the RV connecting to the router's wifi and wired ethernet.

Well, yes, I figured that's how everyone sets it up. That's what I did.

Your posts are gold, Gene. Thanks for the information and link--that website explains it very well. (Of course my wallet is weeping again...)

Also I was wondering about setting up the Nanostation M2 to as the antenna & router and then just use their inside wifi router for PCs, Tablets, etc.
Or setup the Nanostation M2 as only an Access Point for the campground/open wifi and then still do the routing & DHCP on the inside router.

    Beside's bogen2's link http://davidelmore.com/djv/wifi-repeater/ I saw a note in the older Beginner's Setup Guide for Nanostation-M2:
"Just like there are several ways to skin a cat, the network settings of the Nano and computer can be many. The settings here have been found most convenient while cruising because connecting to new WIFI access points in different places require a minimum of effort."

Received and configured an M2 and airGateway today. They work great! As noted by many, these are not for network newbies. Even with the directions from the linked website referenced in an earlier thread and a lot of experience tinkering with routers and computers, the process of connecting the M2 to my home network's SSID had me initially stumped. It didn't take long to figure it out, though.

Thanks to everyone for their input to this thread. I am ready for campground WiFi (or lack thereof)!

Another source of information for setting up the M2 is in this article: https://outsideourbubble.com/secure-...for-under-100/

His video was very helpful to me when we set ours up.

    Little update...

Currently sitting here, at Walker Lake Nevada (middle of nowhere) and all alone for miles.
But I'm picking up the access point for the free wifi at a place called Ray's in Hawthorne.
It's barely usable, but hey, it's still free wifi and its...

    9.1 miles away!
