The new director and administration were successful in pushing people out the door.

The future of our national parks is at stake because some people left their board positions???? I must be missing something here...

It is not THAT they left, it is WHY they left. Our public lands benefit all people and represent a heritage for those to come.

I will admit to being a little ignorant on this subject. So I only have an uninformed opinion. It appears to me that the advisory board has been ignored. So they have thrown their collective hands up in frustration. What will this mean for our properties managed by the Department of Interior? I don't really know.
The reality folks is that there are more and more people. There is no more land. As we get even more people there will grabbing hands pulling on the available land, for oil, for space, for minerals, for wood. I do not believe that my great grandchildren will have any true nature to visit. Even my own children find it difficult to visit nature.
I am really hate nay-sayers and doom and gloom prophecies, but I believe this.Dallas

Well said Dallas. National parks are so few that when we go, to be out in nature, we have to wait in line behind the couple thousand that got there before us.

In the past few years I have been dismayed at the number of foreigners to our parks because it is free. We are pushed away because of crowds and you can clearly see the overwhelming demand on our parks and facilities by people who are not speaking English!!

Just to keep this Thread from becoming anymore political, I'm going to lock it now.
