    Should I buy Imagine 2800BH?

Yes, I know this is a GD Forum? Yes, I understand the opinions I will get ... and I respect them or would not ask.

My family, wife and 6 and 9 yo girl and boy have a nice pop up. We are upgrading this year and have it narrowed to Surveyor 287Bhss or Imagine 2800BH. They are the same floor plan with subtle differences. We like what we perceive to be the quality of the Imagine and what we believe to be true about the company. I also like the hookups and controls of the GD. On the flip side We like it that the surveyor has a built in bike rack/utility rack and an outdoor kitchen with a sink and grill. We grill, we don’t cook.
, outside. Our kids are also on a bike team so we are hauling bikes always.

These are so close, how do we decide and why GD?

Please help me, don’t flame me.

    Thanks.

I have had both a Surveyor and now a GD. I can tell you that the GD is a much better built trailer. The Surveyor had so many problems that the dealer, as hard as they tried, could not keep up with the fixes. I have to say that both Forest River and the dealer worked very hard to get the trailer right but it was so bad that they would get one thing fixed and another problem would show its ugly face. I kept it for 6 months which 5 of those was in the shop and finally traded it in on my GD. The grand design I have, other than a few things I wanted to change, has had "0" problems. The GD has been the only trailer I have ever had that has not had to go back for any fixes what so ever since I bought it in May of 2017.

Our previous camper was a Forest River hybrid, Shamrock 23 ikss. Only 1 problem in 5 years of ownership. Very good quality and workmanship.
We bought a 2800bh last Sept. Excellent quality and workmanship. We took 3 trips for 10 nights last fall before winterizing. Not one problem. Correction...1 problem. Broken screen door latch. Cheap plastic part.
During our searching process, we narrowed it down to a Flagstaff 27ws and the GD. To me, the quality was nearly equal. The 2 main items that favored the GD to us were the lighter weight of the GD and the fact that the frameless windows in the Flagstaff didn't open very far. They are top hinged and only open a few inches.
    Hope this helps.

Scooter, I know I'm bias towards GD, since I sell them. However, GD does a fantastic job in construction and pre-delivery inspection. They have recently expanded their PDI facilities to a new structure. Other mfg's will randomly pull units off the line and inspect them. GD pulls off every single unit and does a PDI. Personally speaking, if I have a question or need something, my GD rep is always available via cell phone/email/text. Regardless of where you buy it, you won't be disappointed with the product or the company. So,,,,,,,pull the trigger on the 2800BH!!

I looked at a ton of campers and had my mind set on a Keystone Bullet. I decided to go to one more dealer and check what they had. I walked through the 2800BH and couldn’t look at any other camper the same. It was a little more money then I wanted to spend, but After seeing the high quality and excellent engineering, I knew this camper would last me a long time.

Our feeling too. The more we look, the more we are convinced this to the right brand and model. We will start shopping for our 2800BH in a few weeks.

Be sure to check out this thread before buying https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...t=2800bh+price it shows what everyone has been paying. I showed the dealer what people were paying on the forum and thought I got a great deal. I posted my purchase agreement on there.

Thanks. We have been monitoring that thread. It will be helpful in negotiating a fair price. This site has been a great resource in our search for a Travel Trailer.

We bought a 2600rb with no kids but had we seen the 2800 probably would have bought instead. Weight at the time was a factor plus being unaware but very happy with our choice to go with GD
