    Parks in and around Nashville

I am planning a four night stay the end of this month and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to a park in Nashville, TN? No kids, so convenience to the city and sites would be the primary concern. I Googled and the KOA has some really good reviews and some not so good recently. So if you've camped there and have suggestions I would sincerely appreciate any recommendations you might have.

    Thanks again in advance,
    Lee and Michelle

We stayed at the KOA, it was good. Typically when we visit the Nashville area we are visiting the kids out west. We like Montgomery Bell State Park. It's a bit of a hike back into town, but you are out of the city.

We have stayed at Two Rivers twice. It is right next to camping world, and right around the bend from KOA, and Yogi Bear. We were only there for 4-5 nights, just had W/E. Not bad, thought it might have less kids than the other two. All three campgrounds have a shuttle bus that for like 8 or 10 buck you can get a ride down into town, so you don't have to worry about parking or driving. Worked well for us. Very short drive to Grand Ole Opery.
We love Nashville, but don't know if we will make it this year.

We have stayed at Two Rivers a few time. It can get expensive. It is between two Camping supply stores. KOA sites are tight, we had electric problems there, low voltage and EMS kept shutting down

We used the KOA 2-3 times. No problems, electric or otherwise, any trip. I would probably look at Two Rivers if in the area again. KOA continues to get higher and higher. JMHO

This time of the hear, to Two Rivers or KOA Opryland--both o. Music Valley Dr. off of Briley Pkwy.

Gaylord Opryland Hotel is down the street, as is the new Ooryhouse and a huge outlet mall. And the General Jackson riverboat operates out of there too.

If you want to be close to the city, then stay two rivers or KOA. If you dont mind driving, stay in a state park. Less expensive and better scenery.

When in Nashville definitely have the HOT CHICKEN. The CHICKEN & WAFFLES is great too. It's even better if they serve the chicken HOT. When we were there, end of November 2017, TIN ROOF and STAGE were the hot spots. Sorry, I know I'm off topic of camping, but I never camped there. Enjoy

There is a small park out on Priest Priest Lake, and it is not as far as Montgomery Bel! and Henry Norton state parks. There is also a large commercial campground not far east of the airport off I-40 East called Nashville Shores. There is also a second KOA North in Goodlettsville.
