I can relate to that. I now have a dent in the cab to remind me. I ended up installing a Sidewinder pin box. I really like how it works. I don't have to remember anymore. LOL. One thing I like about the Sidewinder over the auto sliders is I didn't have to modify my hitch and I can still haul any 5th wheel with a standard pin box.

Now there advice is a Pullrite Super Glide 16K. I was thinking of a Reese Sidewinder. Does anyone have any experience with either?
I tow with a 2011 F250 6 3/4' bed. Hitch is a Pullrite Super glide 16K. No issues on bed clearance height and plenty of clearance with back of cab. We are pleased so far, but have had the hitch for less than a year.

I have the pullrite as well. Very quiet. I like it so far only had it since October.
My neighbor has the sidewinder. He throw out his shoulder so I drove his rig to the storage yard. 1st thing I noticed pulling it of his driveway on how noise it was. I stopped and lookedat him said is that normal? His response was yes. I was quite surprised how noisy it was.

Mine makes no noise at all. There must be something wrong with how he has his set up or maybe the noise is coming from his hitch and not from the Sidewinder.

I will mention that to him. Maybe he has something going on. He did say that's how it sound since the day he got it but maybe the dealer didn't set it up correctly.

Which hitch did you end up going with? How does your F250 pull that 5th wheel?

Got the Pullrite Superglide. It's a little tricky hitching the 5th wheel but I am getting better at it. I did prefer my B&W Companion but the slider had to be manually operated where the Pullrite is automatic.

Love my 2017 F250 Superduty Diesel. It pulls my 303RLS with no problem. Very stable on the road with no sway problems.

Just wanted to add I also have a short bed F250 crew cab and with a B&W Companion I had clearance problems. You need a slider.
